I'm 6'-1", 170lbs, 40" chest, 33" waist and bought a medium even though the size chart says I should be a large. I normally wear a large and am between a 42 and 44 in motorcycle jackets (alpinestars, cortech). 42 feels tight, 44 is loose in those brands. On this jacket, the overall length is ok, the sleeve length is ok but it fits huge around the chest and waist, with no means to cinch the waist. It looks like a giant lawn and leaf garbage bag on me. Has many pockets (one of which was partially sewn shut). The vents are very small, with no chest vents. The only vents are small ones on the upper arms and lower back. The padding and armor seems excellent, although the shoulder pads do tend to spin around when you put it on. If I were going to keep it, I would add some velcro or sew the shoulder pad pockets in so they don't move so much. I really wanted to like this jacket, and it may fit people who aren't as thin as I am. I thought about trying a small - but really? A small for 6'-1" 170? There is also a number 36 written on the lower back in white chalk, like it didn't come out in the wash after the jacket was made. I wanted to like this, but it just doesn't fit my body type. I tried it on 3 different times with different shirts underneath. Hard to stomach spending $300 on a Klim Dakar that doesn't come with pads. I think I will try the Thor Terrain next - that seems to fit the skinny people like me better

Jacket is holding up well so far. Has kept my son dry in light rain. Haven't tried it in heavy rain yet. Nice for cold mornings and sleeves come off for more cooling as temp comes up.

By far the best jacket I have worn. Sizes do run a bit larger, but made to wear thin padding underneath. The styling is outstanding, the comfort is a bit stiff but should wear in over a season.
