Very nice knee braces
I was unsure on which knee braces to buy and went back and forth on several different brands. It seems like there are negatives on every brand. I really liked the way the Leatt X braces were made rather that the “C” design because of the inside knee protection. The knee braces fit well and I could hardly notice that I was wearing them while I was riding. The added protection was well worth the money and the knee braces saved my knee the first time I work them. The track I was racing on had a huge tire set up on the edge of a hair pin turn and every rider was hugging the inside. As I came into the turn I hugged the corner so tight that my right knee hit the tire very hard. If I didn’t have the knee braces it would of definetly been and injury. I am still in the early stages of using the knee braces so I am unable to say how well they will last but so far I am very satisfied.

First pair of real knee braces.
A great knee brace, though it took me a few rides to get there with that thought. I rode in a pair of Thor knee guards for 6 years, the style that had two hinges on both sides of knee which offered a bit of support. But nothing like you get w the leatt x frames. The first thing it took a bit getting used to was the slight bigger projection of inner hinge than not Thor's. But after a couple of rides it wasn't an issue for me. Another thing that was different from other knee guards was how the knee floated behind the knee protection and not right up against it. If and when your knee was on the ground it did eventually make contact but very slightly. Again after a few rides I actually liked that. Also after a couple of hours ridding in them when I took them off I missed the support, or shall I say I didn't notice how supportive they were while I was riding.

I bought an XL since I measured 15.25" around. I didn't really understand the other measurement of knee cap? I ended up putting the thicker side pads in which snug things up.

Overall if you want a real knee brace and are willing to spend the money I do like these braces.

Leatt X-Frame Knee Brace
These braces are kit for purpose. My 15 year old says he really likes the feel. They look well constructed. We have a couple races and several hours of practice on them with no issues.

Do you measure for the LEATT X Frame knee braces above or below the kneecap? If I measure above the kneecap these will not fit at all.
Luis C on Jun 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You measure the width of your knee cap and the diameter of your knee cap.
Are the Leatt brace lighter than the pods?
A shopper on Oct 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't know about pods, but the Leatt braces are light. I don't even think about them when I start riding. I'm very happy with them..
Does this brace have built in break/fracture points to reduce risk of injury to shin (tibia) or femur?
Thomas D on Apr 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Thomas, the X-Frame does not have fracture points to break away to reduce injury to your tib or femur. Our C-Frame braces have the fracture points built into the upper C-arm and lower shin plate to reduce possible injuries. Thanks - Kris
If my knee is 4" across but 14" around would you recommend I get a M?
Jacob W on Feb 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would recommend going off of the sizing chart. We also have a video on knee braces if that will help as well.
I just bought the C frame XXL and they fit tight around my thigh. Would the X frame fit better ?
Chad G on Jan 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No they are not as adjustable as the c frame's are.
Do the Leatt X-Frame braces come with the Leatt knee brace sleeves, I have seen videos that say the sleeves are included?
Patrick R on Feb 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi Patrick, yes the knee brace sleeves are included with the X-Frames.

Thanks, Kris
