Flexible, adjustable shoulder straps and 20 beveled air-flow vents for cooling.
Ultra-light and is compatible with most neck braces.
Quick snap-on/off waist straps with thermos plastic rubber pull tabs.
This is a low profile protector that I put under my jersey. After a while I don't notice it is even on. I like how the top straps that go over my shoulders are thick and comfortable. I also wear a hydration pack and the straps sit over the chest protector straps which helps the pack feel less noticeable on my shoulders. For the parts that it does cover it seams to do a good job. I haven't really had a wreck to test it out. I did fall and scrape the outside of my shoulder, so maybe i should get one with protection down the arm.
Nice fit for under a jersey but the back plate will feel uncomfortable if you ride with a backpack
i wear a backpack with various tools and water this roost deflector made my lower back uncomfortable. the bottom of the back side of the deflector is the area. this has nothing to do with rocky mountain selling the product. rocky mountain has great deals and great shipping. i buy from them all the time. this MRS roost deflector will show you, you pay for what you get. little things that make a difference
Very comfortable roost. The roost sits where protection is needed without limiting mobility. In my experience, the less comfortable the roost, the less likely one is to wear it. This is the ONLY roost I was able to find with CE rating AND back protection that cost less than $150. Fit is good. I'm 6'4" 220 lbs and my son is 5'10" 150 lbs. The adult size fit us both well, though my straps are adjusted to near max. Using for downhill mountain biking, roost stays put mostly and seldom rises up my torso. Ventilation is good, not great, but I never stop and think "boy, this roost is making me hot" when I'm riding. A lot for the money, here.
My son was given an older chest protector by a friend who no longer rides or has a bike. He said it was too cumbersome so we got recommendations and searched for something more along the lines of those that his friends wear when riding & racing. He picked this one because of the slimmer more contoured look of it. He really enjoys riding with it as it fits much better against his body.
Bought it in white to match my latest gear. Comfortable, good fit, easily adjustable and best of all I love the clasps! So much easier and can be locked and unlocked easily with gloves on. This is my first MSR roost guard. Glad I bought it!
It feels nice and comfortable and there’s nowhere where if rubs or feels uncomfortable. It looks good and is good quality everywhere but one spot. Though it is perfect for the price you pay, the msr logo and designs on it are stickers that weren’t very well put on in the first place and looked like they were already peeling once I took it out of the package. It’s not star worthy since it still feels, looks and performs great and does its job the same so 5 stars.
I am quite surprised at how comfortable this roost guard is. Its simple, and does what it is designed to do. Only thing I wish it had was a shoulder pad option but otherwise I have no other complaints. I've worn this unit on quite a few rides now and can honestly say that it is very comfortable. In fact, I often forget that I am even wearing it, which is nice!
My son is 5’8” 145lbs Much better fit than the LEATT for a lanky framed person. Easy for under or over Jersey.. got on sale for $60, my Son loves the fit. Fits w/both LEATT and Atlas neck braces. CE rated. GREAT Value!!!
