Great dry be cautious when wet
Of course you get the best longevity BUT traction or grip is compromised on wet pavement. Dry conditions great grip.
I’ve tried Mitas and Metzler but I run through the tread in 4k mi turning bald then ride to 6k (rear).

Scouts I can get at least 6-7k decent tread and ride bald up to 12k/mi. Very thick sidewall tread wall.

Only put 200 miles on seems to be good tire. Maybe hardest tire I ever installed on my klr. Tires are stiff and have extra tubes on hand.

Very impressive tire for a 50/50
Just put on my second rear, got 6000 miles on the first. It grips well on the black top, and does really well off road too. Did the idbdr on the first one last year, loaded fairly light. and put the new one on to do it again this year, loaded quite heavy with panniers. It performed nicely both ways and handled all the different types of terrain great. (The front tire is a little different story, but this review is on the rear tire) you hear of people getting double the miles I got, but I think that those must be a different size that has the solid strip of rubber around the center of the tire. I have no problem with 6000 miles and paired with a heavy duty tube I had no flats on the first tire, and so far on the new one, so the little extra money is well worth it to me.

Buy the best and cry only once !
Very happy with 10k miles on my first K60 Scout. Impressed with this rugged tire on the rear of my 2016 Honda Africa Twin. Just bought another for the next 10k ! Best price I found along with free shipping and prompt delivery to my home on the left coast of central CA.
Tire took me to NE Oregon for the Solar Eclipse last summer, and more recently across CA, NV, UT and CO with many dirt roads along the way. No flats, no traction concerns, corners better than expected on pavement and holds well on gravel roads as well.

    Long Distance Adventure Touring Tire
I used this tire on a road trip to Alaska From So Cal. Lasted the entire trip with rubber to spare. The grip on wet or dry pavement was good, not great, but good enough. Traction on gravel and dirt roads was good enough. Handling was good enough. It did everything good enough, except it lasted forever.
If your need is a long distance Adv touring tire the K60 is worth a very serious look.

    Good tire klr 650
I ran this with a tkc 80 front. Very good on road, good on gravel and dirt, surprisingly good on sand but no side traction on mud.

I got 5500 miles on it when I Ran across something and slit the tire, probably had another 1000 miles in it. Even though it had a 2” slit down to the steel cords it got me home!

I’m looking at this rear tire for my klr 650. I want the tire with the solid strip down the middle, but I see some people received the chevron style. How do I know what style rear tire I will get when I order?
    Robert S on Oct 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The K60 SCOUT is the most unique tire tread on the market with varying patterns between the sizes. 140/80b-17, 150/70b-17, 150/70b-18, 170/60b-17 are the solid strip down the middle.
What is the best tube for is tire?
    Danny B on Feb 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi Danny, I purchased a 19" and a 17" for my BMW 1200 GSA and at this time I have gone through about nine pairs in 176000 miles, I run them tubeless of course on this bike, the Heides are very stiff and hard to mount from experience, if I were to mount these on a machine that required tubes I would shop for the thinnest tube I could find for this reason, again the K60 in BMW 1200 sizes are extremely stiff and hope I never have to mount them using tubes. Hope this helps and I hope you can use them as tubeless, Lafe
Is it normal for these tires to develop cracks on the sidewall even when they are stored at proper inflation and on the center stand?
    Christopher H on Oct 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Its not normal to have cracks. Every motorcycle has a different tire pressure setting. Motorcycle was over loaded with not enough air in the tires, long run it can cause un-even ware....cracks. I had mine for a little over 17K and no cracks, been in all kinds of riding weather.
