Details

The MICHELIN Commander II creates a new standard with regard to durability, yet without making any compromises in terms of wet weather grip, maneuverability or stability. This performance balance provides yet another eloquent illustration of Michelin's research and development philosophy: no performance gain to be achieved on one front to the detriment of another.
  • Rubber compounds provide remarkable wet grip, without compromising durability.
  • Adt (Amplified Density Technology) provides a highly dense more rigid tire casing which helps deliver excellent feedback and handling in all conditions.
  • The square bead-wire package improves casing rigidity, handling and ease of installation.
  • Silica Rain Technology (SRT) which integrates silica into the compound of the tire tread, while the MICHELIN Commander II's tread pattern has been designed to prevent all forms of uneven wear.
  • The exclusive architecture of the MICHELIN Commander II brings both maneuverability and stability. The tire's more rigid, high-density carcass improves maneuverability, while the aramid fiber crown ply of the rear tire enhances resistance and lightness for impeccable stability, even at high speeds.
  • The numerous longitudinal grooves of the tire's tread pattern optimize water dispersal for outstanding wet weather grip.

What a difference
Just put these on my Harley and am already impressed I feel more confident in the corners with the grip of these tires. Seems to be a softer rubber than my previous tire. Therefore they probably will not get as many miles but who cares when they feel good on the bike.

Happy!
This is my second one and have not run out the first one yet, I am on a Harley Road Glide and the factory Dunlop was spent at 8 thousand miles, was noisy, and handled like a rock. I am currently at 9k on my Commander II and it is still going strong. The way I see it anything after 8K is a bonus. Handles nice and quiet.

Best all around performance on an 800 pound bike.
I run commander II's on my road king. I'm on my third set now. I get approx 15k miles per set. I change them when they need changing. Not when they're bald.. Great traction in the twisties on dry roads.

Great tire, better value.
This tire was recommended to me by a trusted Harley Davidson mechanic. It's the only tire he uses on his bikes. So far so good. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.

The Only Tires I Run!
I have these tires on my 99 Honda. I had them on my 08 Ultra Clssic (R.I.P.). I wore out the Dunlops that were on my 12 Ultra Limited and just replaced them with these Commader II’s. These are the stickiest tires I’ve ever seen. They grip the road like no other. The set on my Honda have 10K on them and they show no appreciable wear. These are the tires I recommend to anyone who asks my opinion, regardless of what kind of motorcycle they ride.
I checked prices from at least eight sellers and Rocky Mountain ATV/MC beat the closest competitor by $30! Thanks, Rocky Mountain!

What does the "81H" relate to?
A shopper on Dec 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 81 is the load rating, in this case 1019 pounds. H is the speed rating, 130 mph. Very good tire, very high load and speed rating.
Is the rear Commander 11, wider the front Commander 11?
A shopper on Nov 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the rear tire has a wider footprint than the front tire.
My rim is 18 . By 6 3/4 what size tire do I need ¿??
A shopper on Oct 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You should shop by Year, Make and Model. If you have a custom wheel size, check with the manufacturer of the wheel. Also a lot of info on the web.
will this tire work on the front position of my 2008 royal star venture s....... size is correct but specifies rear position?
james p on Apr 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The manufacturer will say NO. The tire may fit, but the tread pattern is designed for the rear not the front and as are the internals. The front from my understanding is designed for braking loads while a rear for acceleration loads. Additionally, front and rear tires are designed to work in tandem, the front moving water away from the rear and the rear grabbing traction. I believe it possible, but unwise risking your safety as unlike a car, you only have two wheels for stability in acceleration, breaking and running down the road.
Will it fit 2006 honda vtx 1300r?
A shopper on Jul 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I installed on a 2010 Harley so i wouldnt know avout on a honda. I like the tire wears well and tracks tho
Will the tire fit on my 2014 triumph thunderbird 1600? I have checked other places and they said it would but with your chart it does not show for my bike
A shopper on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Your bike calls for a 200/50ZR-17. The Michelin Commander II does not come in that size only thing close is one in 200/55VR-17 which will be 10mm taller tire(50-vs-55 aspect ratio) so it is not an exact fix. But the Metzeler Rear ME880 XXL 200/50ZR-17 would be a fine chose also.
I have a 240 / 40R 17 on my bike,
Will the 240/ 40R 18 fit?
A shopper on Jun 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: That will not. The last number is your rim diameter. This would mean you will have to change your rear rim in order for the tire to work.
