Nuetech Tubliss rim tape
I have had problems with previous rim tape from Nuetech and the new tape has shown some leaking of slime around the nipples until the slime seals it.

better than any rim wrap
Just use this, its better than any rubber style rim tape. I use this with my tubliss system and with a front tube because normal rim tape gets all weird by the third or fourth tire.

Kept as spare
I am on my 3rd tire so I thought it would be a good idea to keep a spare in case it comes loose during the next tire change.

Some of the best rim tape that I've used
Seals well and last long. A little harder to put on but not too hard.

Perfect
I suppose you could use electrical tape, but this is cheap and no chance of voiding a warranty...

Is this for a front or rear wheel? I bought some and it only goes around the wheel once. Not 3 times. Also I can see my spoke screws on both sides of the tape. It's not wide enough.
bevin j on Sep 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is only long enough to go around 1 time, and the nipples show on the edges. I put it on and then follow up by ripping a section of Grolla tape wide enough to cover the spoke nipples and go around the rim one more time. I have been running Tubliss on my rear tire for about 5 years now. Love riding very difficult trails in the mountains is AZ and Montana. Start with 10 PSI and reduce down to as low as 2 psi if I need more traction on Snow, Mud or Sand. Carry a air pump in your back pack and play with PSI's
Some people say that there is enough to wrap 3 times and some say once. Also I have seen instructions from tubliss saying to wrap 3 times (on an extra piece of paper labeled updated instructions) and I have seen instructions saying to wrap once. I think there is 2 different tapes and 2 different sets of instructions. The tape I got just goes around once and is the same style as what is in the picture. Which tape and instructions work the best?
bevin j on Sep 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There is a front and rear tape roll for the different size wheels. When i installed i wrapped once as thats what my instructions said to do and you overlap only about an inch or so. The whole purpose is just like rim tape to prevent inside of spokes from damaging the tube system. I've been running it like that for approx 20 hours and through hard enduro and track situations. I run approx 7psi front and rear in low pressure chamber and run 100 psi in the high pressure tube. I have only had 1 flat from a nail in that time, and the tire chamber and tube hold air for approx 1 month without any adjustments. The last part of install with the soapy water is very important. If you dont have enough in there it will leak from spokes with tape or not.
Which rim tape can I buy that will create a seal for me? This tape definitely doesn't seal off the spoke heads. At 27mm, it is not wide enough to cover the spoke heads and not long enough to wrap around 3 times. Do I need 3 rolls of this stuff?
bevin j on Sep 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This tape "helps" with the seal but it is not designed to completely seal. Let me explain. The tape will help seal any imperfections between the red inner liner (which presses against the inside bead edge of your tire. If that area is not sealed with soapy water, armor all or I like to use Murphy's tire lube, then you could get the low pressure air seaping around the red liner and possibly out the spokes heads. If installed correctly with lube, the high pressure tube will not only push against the tape, but also pushes against the bead thus sealing the tire. Make sure there are no nicks or imperfections in the red liner. I have bought 3 rolls of this tape from Rocky Mountain and one roll is long enough to first go around the deep inset of the rim right over the spokes, then it will wrap once more around one side of the rim (but not in or up to the bead area!) and then enough to go around the other side of the rim which essentially covers the first wrap on both sides. If you buy the 18" or 21", there is enough to go 3 times around the rim. Good clean installation and lube is the key to no leaks, not so much the rim tape.
The 27mm wide rim tape (part RT27) supplied with my Tubliss Gen 2 kit does not have adhesive on the black tape; the adhesive is on the white paper backing. Is this defective tape? How do I stick the tape to my rim? Thanks!
William K on Apr 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Thank you everyone for your help. My solution was to separate the backing paper from the other end of the tape roll where the adhesive was properly bonded to the black tape. This worked fine. FYI there was only about two inches of tape left after wrapping it around my 19" KTM rim. Thanks again!
