    Balancing issues

As of this writing I have not yet had a chance to test the tires performance but I will comment on my efforts to balance the tire usiing a site built truing/balancing stand. The Continental does not have a balance mark on the carcass which I found on Youtube to be normal for them. I was really surprised at how much weight I had to add to get it to balance. Over 55 grams and it looked rediculous all stuck to the rim so I got out the solder and started to wrap the spokes in old school fashion. I had to add more weight because of the distance change to the centre but it worked. I still have to do a test ride but I am surprised that a Continental was so far out balance to start with.

Manufacturers description may be hurting this tires...

I stayed away from this tire because Continental describe it as "ideal for entry level riders". A friend and I were out of state on a motorcycle trip when he noticed he had cords showing in his rear tire, he's a goober and didn't check tire before our trip. He had to go to local bike shop who only had this tire in stock. He had it installed with no other choice. We ride harder than we should on the street and this tire held up exceptionally well on his KTM Super duke 1290. Absolutely no issues in the dry, but was never tested in the wet stuff. If you're worried you'll outride this tire, I wouldn't worry about it.

The front tends to start scalloping at about 3500 miles. The rear wears very even and seems to last about 5000 mi. which is good enough for this style of tire. It does not seem to be giving much up in the street department It can be leaned over to the edge of the tread confidently, and is aggressive enough for my kind of Adventure riding.

The 1190 Adv came stock with these tires and I've stuck with them. I have to say they stick like glue and I've never felt them slip in the rain or during cornering on the road, off road well the don't offer alot of confidence on loose terrain or in a little mud. I'd like to see this tire provide a longer life span, they last somewhere between 5-7k miles(rear), and I mainly travel alone without luggage.
