Nice tires, not enough miles put on yet
I haven’t had time to put many miles on these tires, mounted the 805 rear and 804 front. The little I rode, they gave me decent traction off road. On road, they hit a certain lean angle and “fall”over for lack of a better description. Like maybe they’re falling off the block tread edge before picking up the next set over. They seem good overall.

    Great value
I have installed these tires on my Tiger 800xc. They work well on highway and Colorado off road passes. I keep on buying and using them over and over.

    Great for the Money
I used this on the NV BDR on a CB500X. At no time did I have a lack of traction off road. On the road it has a hum after break-in but it's not loud or annoying.

    Inspire confidence
I always wondered what riders meant when they said their tires inspired confidence. I’ve ridden for year with expensive 50/50 tires and never felt confident on gravel roads. After reading reviews I decided to change out my expensive name brand tires for Shinzo 805/804 back and front tires. The difference was immediate. Before I got out of my long gravel driveway I could tell they had more grip, especially the front for steering. Two miles down the highway then 30 miles on gravel back roads and I can say these tires inspire confidence. They are smooth and quiet on black top as well. The tread is noticeably softer than my other tires so I’m sure I won’t get the same mileage but at half the price it’s still a great value. And, being able to ride more relaxed makes it worth it to me. These are great tires and my new go to for adventure riding.

    Good tire
Tire fits perfectly, looks great, and has amazing grip. Not sure on tire life get as it is still new but I’m expecting to get around 4K miles out of it. The 1290 is definitely a tire ripper so will update as I reach tire life. Thx

    Shinko 805 rear
On the road this tire is great. Offroad it is down right dangerous due to no side to side traction. Will be pulling the tire off very soon.

    Shinko 805
Just ordered got my second 805, sitting in the garage waiting to put a few more miles on the first one. Over 6500 miles and climbing, should get another 500 easy. I commute daily on my KLR650 in all kinds of weather. Performs well wet or dry on the street. Does okay on girt and gravel roads. Have not had it deep sand or mud but has done okay in moderate sand and mud so far. I have no complaints and this will be my go to tire for the rear.

    Shinko 805
I use my KLR650 to commute to work daily, just over 15 miles one way, regardless of the weather. I just have to dress for the day's ride. The OEM tire barely lasted 4000 miles. I wanted a replacement that would handle good in all conditions on the road yet give me adequate traction in the Florida sand and mud. After a lot of research I decided to try the Shinko 805. So far they have been everything I wanted in a tire. They have lasted over 6000 miles so far, perform great on the road in all conditions I put them through. Off road they perform reasonably well for what little time overall I get to ride offroad. They do tend to slide side to side a bit as per design but not bad. I've had them in Florida sand, forest roads, and a bit of gravel and in NC on some back forest roads. I have no complaints at all and just got my replacement (same Shinko 805) in the mail from RMATVMC. I'll be putting it on in the next few weeks as I still have a few more miles to put on. I will say my only complaint for what it is, is that the side walls are a bit stiff so makes it a bit difficult to install. I would highly recommend.
As a side note: I was not as happy with the matching front (804) as it started cupping bad at around 3000 miles. It also tended to wash out in the turns so I won't be using it again. I've replaced it with something else.

what is the right tube for a tire 140 80 17? can i use this tire without tube ?
    A shopper on Jun 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you have tubeless rims this tire is tubeless. A 110 or 100 by 17 will work. Get a heavy duty iron ultra heavy duty if you are riding off road. Check out my YouTube channel search azdesertdog
wondering if I can replace the 130/80 17 with my old 4.60 17. What's the tread/knob width on these?
    thanks
    Bryce H on Jul 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It's a really good tire, tough, longlasting. There are conversion charts on the web that tell you if it'll work. If it is close it'll be fine.
