    So far, so good!
Seem to be very sturdy and high-quality. Haven't really tested them at speed (and really hope I don't) but my amigo forgot the kickstand and laid the bike down. The bars have a small scratch but the rest of the bike was spared. Money well spent in my book.

    Great bars, good price!
The bars went on fairly quickly. One suggestion I’d make to Givi is to engineer a notch between the mounting bracket and the bar so the angle of the bracket to bar connection is held constant. This is important because the bracket bolt that holds the two pieces together cannot be accessed one the bars are bolted in place. This means it’s constant trial and error to get the angle right, then tighten that bolt, then bolt the bars in place. The bars are nice and sturdy and have been tested in a slow speed tip over. Cheaper than buying new body panels.

    Great Bars
Unfortunately I laid my DL down (oil slick) which took out the right side of a set of bars the PO had already installed, consequently I purchased the GIVI bars as a replacement and I'm really impressed by the tube thickness and diameter...much heavier than the SWM bars that it replaced and a snap to install.

    Givi engine crash bars.
I got these right before my cross country trip and i did end up dropping my bike on its right side. The bars saved the tank and the handle bars as well as the turn signals and controls.. I am very glad I purchased these bars and they are worth the value.

Saved my radiator 3 times now!!
I have these on a gen 2 KLR. They were the first thing I bought for the bike, because youre gonna go down at some point (Don't get cocky, it's gonna happen, especially when your use to 220lbs 2 strokes). Being 6' I can handle the bike and refuse to lower it to make it more manageable because I'll be giving up rear clearance, especially when loaded with gear. So knowing there would be mistakes made on and off road with this tall 450lbs beast I immediately opted to protect my bike. The bike has now met the ground twice off road at low speeds, no issues. And once on the road at 20-25mph on the right side (thought it would be fun to ride in the rare Alabama snow haha) after the road fall the left side of the bars is a little bit closer to the bike, but everything was and still is protected. The only reason I have them a 4 star rating is because I haven't found small bags that mount to them well yet. Good price, good build, easy install!!

Great Bars for a First Gen KLR650
These are for a second gen KLR650, but work great on a first gen bike. They give a little more leg protection for those stupid moments of i can do that on a top heavy bike. They also tie the bike frame together and i noticed a slight reduction in vibration at high rpms from the engine. They have hit the ground numerous times in rocks and mud, and the coating isn't even scratched off.

    Givi Engine Guards, Easy Install!
Recieved my Give Engine Guards by lightning fast shipping, awesome! Installed on my '14 NC700X in about 40 mins, one person. Could of used a third hand but I'm not a mutant. Should provide adequate protection for tip overs or very low speed lay down, hopefully I won't test either. Fair price. Rocky Mountain ATV/MC treats you right. Thanks guys!

Very pleased with these crash bars. The mid brace that ties the 2 sides together add a lot of strength, The bars also join together in front of the front downtube which also adds strength.

The crashbars replace the stamped OEM front motor mount with a stronger piece.

They fit well and look good. They are lighter than the SW Motech bars, and cheaper, but appear to provide comparable protection.

Installation was easy for 1 person although a 3rd hand would have been helpful at times.

Do these bars interfere with the light bar?
    Jason M on Aug 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am sorry. I don't have a light bar on my klr. but I can say that I like these on the klr the best of the ones that I used. sw motec and happy trail. are more difficult to install and I just like the givi the best
will sw motech skid plate work with these crash bars?
    Shane W on Aug 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: My DL650 does not have the SW skid plate just the abs plastic front air dam. Your best bet is to get on to sites like Adventure Rider to find out the answer to your question. That said my Givi bars are sooooo much better than the SWM bars that were on the DL when I bought it. I had a slow speed lay down the SWM bars crumbled like a match stick....:>O
