The P3 Carbon Head Pipe Heat Shield is a solid addition to any four stroke motorcycle that needs protection for its header pipe and a shot of good looks in one go. Because they’re made from a carbon fiber / fiberglass composite, P3’s header guard is able to resist excessive heat and have exceptional strength.

And when paired with the accurate fitment and an extended amount of coverage the header gets versus a stock heat shield, these header pipe guards do a good job protecting against dents and dings. The heat shield can also help keep hot engine components away from your leg, keeping your expensive boots / pants from melting on hot exhaust.

The exterior facing surface is finished with a high-strength clear coat that lets the carbon fiber weave show through, and on the backside of the guard a special heat-resistant coating ensures the guard itself won’t get too hot.

      Specs:
    • Carbon fiber and fiberglass composite guard / heat shield for header pipe
    • Easily mounts using hose clamp style brackets and hardware
    • Protects header pipe from dents, dings, and impact
    • Increased coverage compared to stock guards / heat shields
    • Molded to each make/model of machine for an accurate fitment
    • Specialized high temperature resins for long life and high strength
    • Special DEI Hi temp Coating on under side to resist temperatures up to 1500°F
    • Covers resonance chamber on certain models
    • Hi-strength clear coat for great looking carbon weave
    • Hand made in the USA

    P3 Carbon Heat Shield
I have burned a couple of holes in my riding pants, I don't have to worry about that anymore. The P3 heat shield went on very easy took maybe 15 minutes to install. Gives you the exhaust protection needed and is not bulky so you wont notice it while riding.

    Excellent fit for my KTM
Bought a barely used 2017 KTM 350 exc f. Took it for a trail ride and couldn't believe how well it handled compared to my Honda's and Yamaha's. After an hour I stopped to cool off, took my helmet off and smelled something odd, only to find out I had burned a hole in my lower pants leg and it had melted onto the exhaust pipe. Luckily RM had these in stock. I ordered and installed in about 30 minutes. As I work weekdays and only ride weekends I was able to get it on before my next ride. Very happy with the product and delivery.

ruined 3 pairs of pants before i got this
First thing you should buy for your 350 excf. Burned through 3 pairs of pants before i got this. Im on my second guard after almost 2 years of hard riding and lots of crashs. Mounts up easily and looks good also.

Seared several pants on my exhaust before mounting this. Easy install. Also enabled me to use a Giant Loop bag over the area to carry tools.

    Does its job
The heat shield does it's job and looks good. Fairly easy to install. My kit had one of the threaded nutserts dripped/taped at a angle, which made the install a bit tricky. Also, the hose clamps may be a bit weak -- don't over tighten them.

    Looks great, easy install
My 500's exhaust is tucked in but the wife's 350 exhaust comes out around the coolant hoses. She burned her pants and I thought it was just her doing something wrong. I rode the 350 when my bike was out of commission for a weekend and realized the issue. This solves the issue.

Excellent protection and looks great on the bike.
The shield definitely keeps back the searing heat of the pipe and provides adequate skin/gear protection for a couple of seconds.
Easy installation even for a bad wrenched like me.

Will this fit the 2017 Husqvarna FE 350?
    Charles C on Oct 3, 2017
I would like to know what hardware do I need for my 250 exc-f 2017? Because it doesn't seem to come with the hardware.
    A shopper on Feb 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Mine (bought several years ago for a 350) came with hardware. Basically it's 2 hose-clamp-like clamps that also include a threaded mount. A bolt and some washers (maybe insulated on the inside, can't remember), goes into each threaded mount. So yes, you really do need the hardware to come with it as it would be tough to jury rig it yourself.
I've added a kick start to my 2017 KTM 350 EXC-F, and I want to make sure there's no conflict between the kick start lever and the shield. Does the heat shield stop short of where the kick lever tucks in to the bike?
    mike m on May 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure if it will hit or not. As we made this guard without a kicker installed.

But you can compare the pictures from the link to where your kicker is setting now and see. If it hits you can trim the end of it off with a cutoff tool.

One of the screws to the shield fell off that hold the left side sheild on, guess locktight didn't work. What are the right screws to order and where can I get the gasket for the screw?
    Travis H on Apr 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hello Travis, I’ve not personally had the issue that you speak of, but what I would do is take out one of the other screws, head into your local hardware store and try nuts on it to figure out the size. Then I would just replace with a stainless nut and washer. Hope this helps!!
Hey, i see that this fits the stock header on a 2018 husky FX450.. Any one know if it fits a FMF header as well?
    KEVIN M on Apr 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No, I do not believe it does. Typically, FMF's design incorporates slightly different bends to increase exhaust flow.
