    KLR low seat
Very comfortable but I worry about the plastic connections from the Sargent seat pan to the tank and the two side bolts. They do not seem to be very sturdy, but I have only had the seat a few weeks. My guess is long-term they will break/crack and then I will need to fashion something out of metal to attach the seat.

    2006 KLR650 Sargent seat replacement.
The seat offers a much larger seating area compared to standard. The standard set is narrower and is softer padding but offers no support. The Sargent seat offers firmer support spread out on a larger area of your bottom . An half hour on the standard seat was very uncomfortable. So far went on a 90 minute ride noted no discomfort l.

    Poor quality mounting brackets
Let me preface this review by saying that I am an adventure biker, meaning that I get on my bike with a GPS and everything I need for a week and disappear off into the farthest reaches I can access. I put my bike through it: Mud, sand, heat, cold, rain and even the occasional snow until I find an acceptable place to wait it out.

That said, this seat, however comfortable, does not pass the test in terms of durability, particularly the mounting brackets. For the money I expect my seat to come with reinforced mounting brackets, not cheap plastic that splits with simple vibration over the course of the first four months.

If you are "adventure bike Andy" who likes to outfit your bike with all the stuff needed to look like you are an adventure biker and then pound 20,000 miles of pavement, then this seat will suit you. If you cannot even think of, or cannot remember the last time you actually dropped your bike, this seat is for you. If you even ride the simple backcountry discovery routes in Utah, Colorado, or Idaho, this seat's plastic mounting brackets will fail you.

If Sargent fixes this crucial design flaw, this rating goes up to 4.5 - 5 because it is super comfortable and ergonomically correct for turning serious miles on pavement to get to the dirt.

My first thought when I saw this seat was "Wow, that's really thin". I bought this seat based on all the positive reviews I saw on line about it. I just got back from a 4100 mile ride, which covered 10 states in 7 days. This seat was awful! I could only ride for an hour or two before I had to get off the bike to relieve the pain in my backside. I was constantly shifting around in the seat trying to find a comfortable position. The seat is half the thickness and weight of the stock seat, which, in my opinion, makes it too thin to work for someone putting serious miles on the bike. I also own a Honda ST1100 and have a Saddleman seat on that bike. That seat weighs a good 15 - 18 pounds and feels amazing after you settle into it. The ST has a 7.5 gallon gas tank and can go 300 miles between fill-ups. I can literally ride gas tank-to gas tank on that seat. This Sargent seat I bought for my BMW is hard to the touch, which lead me to believe that it would sort of break in after a few hours and be firm yet comfortable, like the seat on my ST. Not! I'm 5' 9" and 175 pounds, with an athletic build if that matters. Everyone sells this seat for quite a bit - not exactly a small investment. I'm very disappointed and definitely would not recommend this seat for someone who puts big miles on their bike in a day. I will gladly go back to my stock seat and put the Sargent on EBay or CL the minute I get a chance. The fit and finish of the seat is top notch, and my only real complaint is the lack of comfort I found in it...felt like I was riding on a sheet of plywood.

    KLR low comfort seat
Fits bike better than stock, a tad close getting it past the stock rack. Well designed, great for standing and at least for me perfect transition to the wide area when sitting and yet very comfortable even if you slide up all the way forward. Looking at the bottom side, the staples are all perfect, not loose and not overtight ( in other words no cut/pinched fabric) So far haven't been able to outride it's comfort. Wish I'd bought it sooner, would have saved a bunch of squirming with buzz butt.

Get rid of the stock seat
This seat is great, before I bought the Sargent seat I could only ride about an hour then had to stop because of butt burn.

Now I can ride a couple hundred miles before a break.

    I love my Sargent Seat.

Comfortable and lower than stock by a lot!
I'm 5'8" and this seat helps get more of my feet on the ground. I went from tippy toes to the ball of my feet. Still thinking I may try a 1.25" lowering links. Much more comfortable than the stock seat aswell. The stock seat hurt after about 30 minutes of riding, the Sargent seat let's me ride longer and hasn't hurt any lol. Totally worth the price if you are shorter or just want a more comfortable seat.

    Awesome Seat!
I should have purchased this seat years ago. High quality and very comfortable. You will never want to use the stock seat again after using the Sargent Seat.

    Sargent Seat for Concours
Good seat overall. I still slide forward a little bit like the stock seat. Wider and nicer looking than the stock seat. Comfortable for short or long trips.

Super fast shipping. Rocky Mountain ATV rocks!

Is the carbon fiber material slick? Any problems with hardware mounts breaking?
    David V on Apr 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’ve had this seat for well over a year now and no complaints. At first is was a little slick...I found that out the first time I hit the brakes hard haha. After a little break in period the slickness went away. On longer trips, I scoot back a little to give my rear a little rest since it’s flatter in the back. No issues with hardware breaking. Definitely a decent choice for the comfort vs dollar value.
HOW MUCH LOWER THAN STOCK, ON THE LOW?
    Scott B on Sep 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hello. I've had mine for over a year now and LOVE it! It's quite a bit lower than stock, but a little wider as well (adding to the comfort), which reduces reach from what it could be. I'd say over all my feet are about an inch or so lower than the stock seat. I have a 32" inseam and can almost stand flat footed.
