I spoke with Sicass directly and they said they would not recommend this much current through the switch.
Jake BThis is a universal, 4 wire (2 circuit) keyed kill switch. When the key is on Circuit 1 is closed (for example, wired to the start button), Circuit 2 is open (for example wired to the kill button). When the key is turned to the off position Circuit 1 is open and Circuit 2 is closed (for example, removing power to the start button and acting as if you are holding down the kill button). The key switch can be wired to replace the kill button or wired in line with the kill button to allow either to shut off the bike. We (SICASS) also make bike specific, direct plug in keyed kill switches.
MIke SThat's what I did when I converted my off road KTM, I just wired it in differently from the instructions so that it acted as a kill switch as well because mines a kicker too and didn't want someone being able to just run up and start the thing
Aaron BYes! The switch came with a mount which is bolted to the four bolts that clamp down the handle bars. Line up the switch in the mount and push to snap it in. Do this first and then measure in the wiring length and routing. Good Luck Charles
Charles HYes, on the Yamahas it will drain your battery because the bike thinks the kill switch is being held constantly. I had the same problem on my 2016 YZ250FX that I've dual sported. This is pretty much only useful on our Yamahas to interrupt the starter button circuit.
Michael WThe switch assembly comes with an asymmetric tear-drop shaped mount (stainless steel sheet metal) with a slotted hole for the switch assembly to lock into. On the small end of the mount is a hole of either 6 or 8 mm, not sure which, but allows for mounting on the handlebar clamp with the stock bolt. Just orient the mount to a position where it clears the tank or other components when turning the bars and tighten down.
Terril PIt's a universal key switch and once you site it correctly to your existing key/kill switch, it will work on any motorcycle. I've purchased three Sicass key switches for my plated dirt bikes for security purposes. It gives me a little bit extra peace of mind that some thief can't just jump on my bike and start it right up.
MICHAEL HI put this on a KTM 525 and 350xc. The key has an open when on and closed when on circuit, so you want to wire the kill switch to be open when the key is in the on position and then wire your electric start button to the closed when in the on position. If you don't have electric start, then you just wire up the kill switch and you're done.
CORY CI think this has already been answered well, but they include instructions on how to hook this up to other systems besides just your kill switch. It should work well.
