Nice product
Thumb warmer was super easy to install with the grips. If you follow the instructions everything goes as planned. The only issue is that the shrink tube doesn't shrink tight enough for my liking. Time will tell on longevity.

Heat is so nece to have
I installed this tusk throttle warmer on both my 500 Polaris sportsman and my 700 Polaris sportsman. it is very easy to install with the tusk heated grips sets. its all plug and play. very simple. the only red x that this throttle warmer gets is the heat shrink that it comes with is a little two short and it doesn't have the glue in it. so the first heat shrink only lasted about one year. I just replaced it with a better heat shrink that has glue in It from my local NAPA store. The throttle warmer still works just fine with the heaver heat shrink.

Thumb warmer really works!
The heated grips and thumb warmer are a necessity when riding in conditions below 40 degrees F and nice in 50 to 60 degree weather.. The adjustable heat settings are important too! Below freezing conditions you will probably run it on the highest setting when you are moving.

Tusk Thumb Throttle Warmer
This product works extremely well. It keeps my thumb warm even in the coldest temperature. I recommend that you use it in conjunction with the Tusk Heated Grips.

So far, so good
I've only had the thumb warmer and heated grips on for about two weeks. They work like they should. The grips were a very tight fit. I probably should have warmed them up somewhat before sticking them on.

The main complaint with these is the temp. adjuster. It adjust the temp up rather than down. I've had Arctic Cat warmers on my ATV's for years. They have a simple hi/low/off switch. The five different levels is fine but they need to adjust down. You put them on the highest level when you start out and lower the temp as your hands warm up. With these you have to go from 5 to off to 1,2,3,4. I know this sounds like a petty complaint. (I won't disagree) But whoever designed the controller probably hasn't actually used them.

What type and size of heat shrink tube is used, and where could I purchase it? McMaster Carr? Thank you!

Do they really keep your thumb from freezing...?
Andy D on Dec 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Most of the thumbs blood vessels are located on the palm side of your thumb. This is the area the warmers contact and will conduct heat throughout the backside as well. I have used these two devices togeather in 20*f. Using hand warmers alone work solely on the palms, leaving thumbs cold.
Will this work with the standard grip heater kit? (The kit without the grips)
brad w on Dec 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The thumb warmer just plugs into the right harness from the kit so as long as you have the rest of the wiring harness that the Tusk grip warmer kit comes with including the controller, then it should.
