Adventure motorcycling is unique. It incorporates elements of touring, but it also includes off-road riding. Make sure that if you own an adventure bike, you have gear that’s up for the task. When you’re looking for boots, make sure that you get something that can handle the rigors of adventure motorcycling and offer incredible comfort for those long trips.
First and foremost, don’t neglect safety and protection. Regular footwear – even if it’s “heavy duty” – will not offer you the same protection as purpose-built riding boots. Adventure motorcycle boots offer the impact protection you’d expect for off-road riding along with abrasion resistance you need for the street. However, some boots also offer additional shin protection and ankle support.
Adventure riding frequently incorporates many activities that aren’t riding at all, including everything from short hikes to meandering around a campsite to pleasant visits at local diners. You need to be comfortable walking around in your motorcycle boots. That means that while you still need protection and support, you also need a certain amount of flex.
There are several other features that can be nice, like good enough tread to give you enough traction when handling your bike when you’re not riding it (such as if you need to pick it up). Depending on where your adventures go, you might also want to consider waterproof boots. Several adventure boots are specifically designed to keep water out in all circumstances (even if you’re standing in a stream) while still being breathable.
Of course, everyone’s adventures tend to be a little different, so we’ve assembled a good selection of boots to make sure that you can find something that best fits your needs. Some boots are so geared up for adventure bikes that they include the word adventure right in their name. But we’ve also got other options, like boots which are designed more with the touring aspect in mind, and we’ve got some shorter boots as well if you tend to avoid off-road riding and don’t need ankle support. We also have several trials boots which – although weren’t designed for adventure bikes per se – have been quite popular among some adventure motorcyclists.
We’ve got great prices and industry-leading brands. Check out our selection and pick up your next pair of adventure motorcycle boots today!

I own a FJR1300 and a KLR650 and I was looking at a boot that could be good on both bikes. I watched youtuber Moto Giant videos on how he lost a foot and ankle in an interstate crash, and I was wanting to upgrade my street riding gear. I wear Tech 7 in my offroad riding and racing but on the street I wore a Seduci street boot. All my Alpinestars boots I have ever owned have been 11 and I wear a 10 1/2 in casual shoes. I am happy to say they work great on both bikes and is comfortable to walk in. My only complaint is in August in Georgia they are warm but so is everything.

Awesome boots for all day comfort. I have some Gaerne motocross boots and I don't like them for ADV riding because I cannot shift gears easily in them. I wear a size 12 wide and ordered a size 12. They fit great. I did treat the leather with waterproofing wax. These boots kept me warm and dry while riding in 45 degree rain for several hours. If MSR could add some more armor to the boot while maintaining a similar level of flexibility and comfort, these would be even better.

I've had these for about 1k miles. No chaffing or discomfort. Hit 271 miles off road in one long day. And felt fine putting them back on the next morning. They may be MC boots but they dual sport amazing.

I bought these Forma Terra Evo Low boots (size 12) back in January 2021 and have since logged over 20,000 miles of adventure riding with them. Let me tell you, they've been worth every penny of the $279 I spent. Comfort: These boots are surprisingly comfortable for all-day rides. Of course, it's still nice to take them off at camp, but my feet never felt cramped or fatigued even after hours in the saddle. Protection: I've had my share of spills and close calls over the past three years, and these boots have saved my ankles and feet multiple times. The protection they offer is top-notch. Waterproofing: Forma claims these boots are waterproof, and they mostly live up to that promise. In rain or shallow puddles, my feet stay dry. However, during deeper water crossings, water can seep in through the top if you don't raise your feet. If you regularly encounter deep water, the taller version of these boots might be a better choice. (The boots ARE waterproof, obviously water will get in over the tops still, not a knock at all, just a statement to consider maybe the tall boot) Walking: Despite being adventure boots, they are relatively easy to walk in. It's like walking in snowboard boots (but not as cold, haha). They're not ideal for long hikes, but for walking around town or exploring campsites, they're perfectly fine. Durability: After 20,000 miles, these boots still have plenty of life left in them. The soles show minimal wear, and the outer material looks almost new. The buckles are also holding up well, unlike some other boot brands I've experienced. Overall: I would absolutely buy these boots again. They are comfortable, protective, and incredibly durable. Forma has done a fantastic job building a high-quality, long-lasting ADV boot. Pros: All-day comfort Excellent protection Mostly waterproof Relatively easy to walk in Extremely durable Reliable buckles Cons: Can leak in deep water crossings (consider the taller version if this is a concern) If you're looking for a reliable, comfortable, and long-lasting adventure boot, the Forma Terra Evo Low boots are an excellent choice. They've been a faithful companion on my adventures, and I'm confident they'll continue to perform for many more miles to come. Thanks, Forma, for making such a great product!
