The Alpinestars Tech 7 Boots are a premium boot that works as the Tech 10's little brother in the Astars' lineup. Protection, comfort, and quality are all kept top notch, but with the exclusion of the Tech 10's inner bootie and support struts on the front and rear producing a lower price point, the Tech 7 represents an excellent value for a boot that is still very easily pro level in its performance.

Starting with protection, the Tech 7 sports TPU panels, impact deflecting honeycomb rubber inserts, and a biomechanical hinge that give it a CE certified level of injury prevention. The one-piece, multi-compound lower also gives protection and a low-profile toe box as well, making shifting and finding your shifter that much easier. Dual-compound soles deliver plenty of traction on the pegs, and while they're very durable, they're also complete replaceable.

Durability for the boot as whole is top notch with tons of double stitching and single, uniform pieces of material getting used as much as possible. And to hold everything together, the Tech 7 has the very easy to use, self-cleaning, self-adjusting, aluminum "arrowhead" style cam buckles. Along with the rest of the nuanced features, the Tech 7 is well-loved for being a comfortable yet protective option that punches well above its price range.

      Protection
    • The Tech 7 boot is CE certified
    • One-piece dual compound foot shell with co-injected hard toe protector and integrated steel shank is highly resistant to abrasion and impact
    • Upper constructed from microfiber material that is flexible and abrasion resistant.
    • Upper material is reinforced with impact resistant PU panels
    • Calf protector plate injected with high modulus polymer
    • Alpinestars’ blade flex system prevents hyperflexion, hyperextension, and rotational injuries
    • TPU ankle protection system incorporates biomechanical link between the middle and bottom sections of boot
    • TPU shin plate and medial protection constructed from single piece and features dual closure system
    • TPU medial side panel incorporates advanced honeycomb rubber insert
    • Dual compound sole seamlessly integrated into base structure

      Comfort
    • Boot chassis designed with an ergonomically profiled forefoot and lower toe-box
    • Sole and footpeg inserts are replaceable
    • Wide entry aperture
    • Buckle closure system includes high-impact aluminum bridge closures, with memory settings and a quick release/locking system with self-aligning design
    • Instep and Achilles accordion flex zones
    • Extended microfiber gaiter
    • Internal lining includes anti-slip microfiber suede on heel
    • Foam reinforcement on ankles and collar
    • Dual compound, removable, anatomic footbed includes EVA and Lycra top

    Not brace friendly.
Look good and work great if you don’t need knee braces or knee guards. It’s impossible to fit a knee brace in these boots an buckle them without a gap.

    Comfortable and true to size
This is my first pair of actual riding boots, always wore combat boots for riding but they don’t offer the protection..
My biggest concern about buying footwear online is fit, each manufacturer seems to have different ideas about size.
I decided to purchase these from Rocky Mountain ATV because they offer free returns if they didn’t fit.
My foot size is 8 regular so that’s what I ordered. The fit is perfect, even room for thick socks.
I decided on the Tech 7’s from several reviews online, and I have to say they live up to their high marks.
Comfortable right out of the box, walked around in them around the house for a few hours then took them for a ride. All I can say is these boots are awesome, minimal break in if any.
Solid construction, awesome buckles that are easy to adjust and a comfortable right out of the box riding boot.

    Defected Boots (Soles Falling Off)
Boots are defected. Not a Rockymountain issue at all but an Alpinestars issue. Rockymountain service is awesome, they even offered to contact Alpinestars for me. Soles coming off of boot in less than a month. Boots have been on my feet three (3) times. Contacted Alpinestars and they said that they would fix the boots once I shipped the boots back to them. Went to ship the boots and FedEx wants $75 to ship. Contacted Alpinestars and they said that I was responsible for shipping cost. I have an issue of having to pay the shipping cost for a brand new pair of boots due to a manufacturer defect. Alpinestars will not help me out at all. The guy with Alpinestars even told me what type of glue to buy to fix the boots myself. Buyer beware. I will never buy another Alpinestars product again. Just seems like a company the size of Alpinestars would be able to stand behind their product enough to be able to at least pay the shipping to fix their manufacturing mistake.

    Great Boot only 1 gripe
This is a great overall boot, but I have one complaint. The sole on my kick start boot started to fall apart on the first day I wore them. This did not change the function of the boot at all, but I expect more out of a boot that you pay this kind of money for. This is obviously something to expect as they sell replacement sole kits. Also glad to see they are coming out with a waterproof model. That will be my next boot for sure.

    Hands down awesome boots!
My last good pair of boots were the tech 8’s fro 20 years ago! Yes I’m old lol. Pick up a cheap pair to ride last year and definitely not worth going cheap. These old of the box were more comfortable and flexible then a cheap pair of another brand. Don’t waste your time, money with anything else buy theses and run!! Great boots I’ll never buy a different brand Alpinestars all the way!!! And the best costumer service is right here at Rocky Mountain!!!

    They fit and feel well
I tried an expensive pair of boots and they were just to narrow. I had tech 7 before and liked them a lot. They fit good and give lots of feeling on shift lever and break pedal.

    Jim M on Dec 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: By removing the old and installing the new.
    Are closeout items exchangeable?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, as long as they are still in stock they can be exchange. Item must be in brand new conditions with all of its tags and packaging.
do the tech 7 run small ?
    Brad T on Jan 1, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I wear a size 9 street shoe and generally wear 10's in motocross boots. However the tech 7's in a size 9 fit me perfectly. So I would say that they run true to size.
is the tech7 endruo worth the extra money?
    Brad T on Jan 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The difference is in the sole, if you need the traction type of sole for your riding then I would say it is worth it. These boots are the most comfertable boot I have ever owned and there is no break in period. The downside is they do let water in if your crossing creeks, etc. I wear a set of waterproof socks over my MX socks if its going to be a wet ride and stay dry. I've been riding and buying boots since 1964, so I have been through many, many pairs of boots from all manufactures. Boots were free when I was a young sponsored dealership rider, so I wore what they gave me. Now I buy my boots and they are the Alpinestar Tech 7's. I have both the enduro and MX soles, I wear the appropriate boot for the task at hand. Can't tell the difference until I need to push my bike up a hill, out of a mud bog, etc. You get the point! Good luck with these boots!
i wear a 11 shoe what size would be best for the tech 7 fit?
    A shopper on Apr 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I find the alpinestars to be true to the size. If you wear a 11 I would order an 11. Just keep in mind they are a little narrow. So if you foot is wide they may feel tight.
Any differences in fit from a tech 8 with a booty to the tech 7? I wear an 11. Tech 8s fit a bit snug. Does the 7 without a booty make a difference in firmest between the two?
    Patrick C on Nov 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I personally can’t wear the 8s or 10s they’re to tight on my feet, but the tech 7s are perfect and do the same job as the others in my opinion. They’re good quality just like the others, just without the booty.
How are these with knee braces?
    Larry P on Feb 15, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I wear knee braces on every ride and have never had any problem with these boots. Really like the boots btw!
    Are they water proof?
    john L on Jan 26, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I would call them very water resistant but waterproof (you would need a pair of boots with goretex for true waterproof)
Hello I am interested in tech 7 but I have doubts about the size to choose since I use knee brace my regular size is 8, what do you recommend my regular or a larger size?
    Joelecks R on Sep 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It will depend on your calf size and how far down your brace goes on your leg. I have large calves and the boot strap in on its last position for me to latch the buckle. These should work in the size you normally wear if you don't have very large calves. Nice thing with RM is you can return them for a larger size if they don't work out. They are VERY comfortable boots and RM has an awesome price on them.
Hi I usually wear a 10.5 show size, some brands i can wear a 10 and some i wear an 11, should i get a size 10 or 11 boot?
    A shopper on Jun 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would get size 11, boot sizes are a little closer to shoes with a good thick moto sock, recommend, you will be fine, happy riding!!
How is the feel when breaking and shifting? Long story short had Tech 8’s they finally blew out lol. Need a new pair but looking for something less stiff then what I hear the 10’s are like. Thanks
    Larry P on Feb 9, 2020
BEST ANSWER: The Tech 7's feel MUCH better and more comfortable than the 8's. The 10's are nice as well but they are very narrow so be careful if you have a reasonably wider foot. I have been wearing the Tech 7's for about 8 years now and I've enjoyed them more than the Tech 8's.
On the black/red/yellow color is the top of the toe where the logo is black or white? In customer reviews it is black but the picture shows it as white.
    STEVE P on Jun 25, 2019
    BEST ANSWER: It is black
Hey all! I'm a size 11, but my calves are much larger than most and I have a hard time finding a set of boots that will close fully around them. Does anyone who owns these have a similar issue? I'd like to be able to close my boots!
    AJ S on Apr 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I just bought a pair of Tech 7. My calves I would say are normal. And there is plenty of room. My boots actually close to much at the top. So I would say you should be fine. Not to mention I think the tech 7 is the BEST BOOT ON THE MARKET! And you won’t find a better deal than RM.
Any Ganare SG 10 riders that switched to this boot? I have a sorta wide foot and like the Ganare SG10 since they run wider. Looking to try something different and wanted to know if any Ganare SG10 riders have moved to this boot. Not looking for a super wide boot but something wider than say your normal Fox boots.
    Lars B on Apr 10, 2019
    BEST ANSWER: No
