    Thought I wanted all-in-one. I was wrong.
At first i liked the idea of having an integrated hydration pack with my roost guard. However, it was a huge pain in the butt every time I needed somthing out of the pack, I to take off everything. The back pack is NOT removable from the front guard, but it has extra straps like it should be. For the price compared to the leatt version it does its job. Its not comfortable, and after using it a few time is easier to have a roost guard and hydration pack separate.

Also, it doesn't work well with neck braces. The shoulder guards are raised so it forces the neck brace up into helmet.

For the money its decent, but if you for sure want the all-in-one system, invest into the leatt.

    Great protection, design, and value.
I am purchasing my second one after getting just over 600 hours of use out of the old one. The bladder and mouthpiece are a bit cheap, but never sprung a leak. The pack held up well and allowed me to carry a spare tube, a 16oz bottle of fuel, and a few snacks with a full bladder. I would carry all of my tools, pump, and phone, keys, wallet stuff in a fanny pack. I've hit the ground VERY hard a few times and the chest protector and shoulder guards protected me very well. I wear one of those EVS neck supports and the Stingray doesn't interfere at all. I highly recommend this product!

Must have for any trail rider
Absolutely love this all-in-one protector and hydration pack. I needed something for those summer rides and didn't want to have several things strapped to my body. The small pockets are great for keeping items such as truck keys, snacks, cell phone, ect.

Good pack & protect ~ water system
I just put 200 miles on it over a long riding weekend at Taylor Park. For comfort, I'd give it an A+. It distributes the weight well and is not obtrusive. The storage is ok, I'd prefer more water proof areas with zippers. I'd give the bite valve a zero. It leaks if you have it in the open position and is next to impossible to open with one hand while on the go. I'll put my other bladder in for future trips.

All that said, I'd buy it again strictly because of the comfort.

    Great gear to have
Excellent combo roost protection and hydration pack. With additional room for packing more gear. I'm 6'-2" and 210lbs and it fits great with plenty of adjustability. Quality product! Only improvement would be armor extending down onto bicep area.

    Ok
Great idea, marginally executed. Front backpack cross strap broke immediately. Has back protector but it's way too short, the backpack is small. Roost protector is essentially not adjustable. It does the job but could be better. I would get a great protector first then add a backpack for hydration next time

    will this fit youth?
    jeffery j on Dec 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Youth covers a lot of ground, depending on the size of the youth it could fit, but this is an adult roost guard. If they are small youth, there might be better choices for you. This is a really nice functional roost protecter and hydration pack. I would recommend it to anyone looking for this type of gear. David
Can it be used under the shirt?
    Richardson F on Aug 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would say you could wear Roost Guard under Jersey if you had a larger Jersey. Drink tube will have to hang outside jersey. It would be more difficult to access tools, etc. stored in hydration pack storage compartments.
