When you choose Leatt’s 3DF AirFit Body Protector you’re getting great coverage with each piece of armor right where you want it for maximum protection.

The perforated 3DF soft armor in the Leatt AirFit is fantastic protection that remains flexible while resisting impacts so well it’s CE certified. However, armor doesn’t do much if it isn’t covering vulnerable areas. That is where the AirFit shines. While the armor covers large sections of the chest and back, everything is held together by MoistureCool, a compression material that wicks moisture and holds each piece of armor tight against your body. With this flexibility each armor panel stays in place no matter how aggressively you ride. When you done riding, getting out of the AirFit is easy because of the side mounted zipper and quick-release buckle system. All armor pads can be removed as well so you can wash the protector and get it ready for your next ride. Complimenting your protector with a neck brace is no problem either since the AirFit has direct attachment compatibility.
Whatever type of riding you do, the Leatt 3DF AirFit Body Protector will give you full protection and the confidence to match.

Great but does not breath. To a point where I’m looking for something different.
Everything about it is great BUT does not breath. I just get WAY TOO HOT wearing this, even when it’s 40 degrees out. It’s like wearing a trash bag. Unfortunately now am in the market for a different setup. Used while riding/racing amateur harescrambles.

Worth the price
I wanted protection from getting impaled by some of the nasty downed trees on the trails. This this is surprisingly comfortable, and the chest section is very tough and would resist puncture. I've gone down pretty hard with with and it definitely helps soften the blow a lot. I'll be buying another when it wears out.

I crash tested this product
I recently purchased the Leatt 3DF to replace a well worn Fox under-armor. I was looking for something relatively cool for summer riding, however, wanted good overall protection. I recently raced the Idaho City Ridge Riders enduro and unfortunately crash tested the under armor over the handlebars at speed in a rock garden. The result was, my new Klim riding gear was shredded with several tears in the arms, chest and thighs of the pants. The Leatt 3DF fared better, however, the lower part of the material on the arm was shredded and allowed the armor to slide up on my are for some road rash. The amazing part is my shoulder and chest where the padding is was no bruised or damaged. My left arm has a large bruise that show the outline of the shoulder pad (under the shoulder pad was not bruised). I had a week of difficulty lifting my arm due to the trauma but am convinced I would have done significant damage to my shoulder if the padding was not there. The chest area of my jersey was shredded from hitting and sliding on the rocks, however, I have no bruising of damage to my chest at all. I give high marks to Leatt 3DF in both comfort and overall protection. I did get some road rash on my arm, but any protector I have used in the past would have slid up on my arm also. Good produce. The down side is the zipper is difficult to zip up when you have a tight fit like me, so I just zip it up prior to putting it on and slide it over my head. I do use the zipper to remove the 3DF. I have included a photo showing the bruise and outlive of the pad.

Adventure Riding
Like most riders that Adventure ride trails and highways my main protection was a mesh riding jacket with protective pads.
I felt more protection was important so I removed the jacket's pad and I now wear the Leatt 3DF underneath the jacket. It can get warm during 85+ plus days if not moving. Great protection and piece of mind. Other riders liked the idea of this protector and are now ordering. Very comfortable to ride in even under a jacket.

Love The Protection But Hard To Clean
Nice comfortable body armor option and works great with Leatt neck brace integration. It does get hot in the summer months and when temps exceed 85 I normally ride without it. It can be hard to get out of when sweaty and washing it by hand can be cumbersome but overall for the added protection it is worth it.

Love it. Truly Love it
I was wearing a fox hard body Armour before and this is far more comfortable. i have even worn this in the truck on the way to ride. the main reason i purchased was the integration with the leatt 5.5 neck brace. No with this i dont even notice the neck brace were before it was sliding around and hitting into my neck.

Very sweaty
Very good protection, I've flown off my bike and landed hard with this on and get right back up... leave your buddies wondering how your not dead. In hot weather prepare to sweat.... alot. Overall, I still wear on colder days but it's too hot to wear in summer. Also difficult to remove pads for washing.

Pricey but Good
I have switched to this protector from a different brand built with hard plastics in the sensitive locations. Wearing the Leatt I barely notice that I wear a protector at all. That for it first felt like you are lacking protection but a few crashes later I must say it works just as well as those hard plastic versions. I had to exchange the first model because it was way too small. I would say sizing does run on the smaller end. Also as I have read on many reviews that the zippers on Leatt products are being reason for complains it is the same here - not very trustworthy! Having to take out all foam pads for washing the protector is a little annoying and a hassle but since those multi layers of foam pads seem to be taped together I would not recommend to wash it with the pads installed. Overall its a good product but the price is definitely high!

So far so good
I considered lots of other brands before pulling the trigger on this one. My only complaint is that it is awkward to remove when you're hot and sweaty. Otherwise, I like having an under jersey option and the security Leatt seems to offer

Difference in back pad length between the S/M andl L/XL? I'm between sizes.
Nuno S on Jan 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The back pad measured 18 3/4" in overall height, the widest part of the pad is around the shoulder area and measured 12" and then tapers down to 7" just above the waist.
Does this fit well for tall skinny guys? I'm 5'11", 150 pounds with 38" flat chest.
Tuan P on Dec 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Should fit fine. I'm on my second one if that tells how pleased I am with them. The material is very stretchy and there is a compression strap around the chest that is adjustable. My only issue with them is that the pads are hard to remove/replace for laundering. Now I just remove the chest pads and throw the rest in a garment bag and wash on the delicate cycle. Now if they just frickin made it in gray instead of hot black.
I'm 6'0" and 195 lbs. What size do you recommend?
JOSEPH B on Jun 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am 6'4" 195lbs. I bought the L/XL and it fits great. I did also buy the kidney belt as well to have extra coverage on my lower spine for off road riding. There have been complaints about the zipper, but I have had no problems. It is delicate. I secure the chest protector, then zip it up. If it breaks, contact Leatt or RMATV and they will replace. be sure to register your product with leatt if they let you. I bought this so the matching neck brace would fit. If you only want the body armor, get the Fox titan. it is bullet proof.
I am a little over 6' tall and 180 lbs. Athetic build. 33W 34L jeans. 44" chest. What size should I get?
A shopper on Jun 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I purchased the XL , I am 5’8 at the bottom of the sizing for the XL , I would suggest the XXL because you are at the top of the sizing chart for the XL .

The XL may be to short for you .... it’s provides a lot of protection and very light. Wore on a extremely hot Georgia day a, easy to take apart and wipe down pads and clean carrier.
How much does the product weigh in a large size?
Jon Dirk L on Oct 28, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It fits nicely when you put it on, however if you dont have a v-shape frame(being in shape) it will move up and out of place. You have to be moving everything into place while riding. However the aspect that I dislike the most is, you have to take it apart all after every ride to wash it( it feels that it wont last of it)
Does this have rib protection or partial rib protection? Also about how thick are the foam pads, do you think they would stop a sharp branch or limb from puncturing you in the chest or lungs? I like the idea of these but worried about those two issues. Thanks!
Justin B on Dec 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: If you landed hard on your side with your arms up there is not much protecting your ribs. Any impact from the front or back and I think you would be fully protected. The padding is excellent for protection from punctures from trees or even fence posts. I'm a large muscle guy at 5'9" and I got an XL, fits a little tight on my large forearms but fits awesome every where else and doesn't affect motion at all.
What's the thickness of the 3DF padding used? I'm assuming the coverage between the AirFit lite and this one is the same but with thicker/heavier padding? Also, seems to me the material used in the suit is different/updated, how has this changed the breathability and did it address the zipper issue from all the reviews? Thank you.
Joe M on Jan 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi Joe, you are correct in the coverage being the same with the Airfit using thicker 3DF foam to make it a Level 2 CE rated piece. The thickness difference I found on my two samples is about 3/16" more on the Airfit over the Lite. The 3DF material has changed so it is more pliable and more ventilated over the past 3DF foam. The zipper remains the same, with it being on the side. It takes a little getting used to but we use a side zipper so there is a full pad over your chest, opposed to a conventional center zipper that breaks the padding up and creates a weak point of protection in your chest.
