Details

The Crossfire 2 is Sidi’s top-of-the-line motocross boot, offering a high level of protection and comfort. The heel is ridged to improve shifting. The heel’s positioning also contributes to the boot’s overall anatomical design, which positions the heel and ankle to provide excellent performance, stability and comfort. The dual hinge system provides a good range of motion (including improved backwards flex) without sacrificing protection from hyperextension and hyperflexion. The buckles are well designed and easy to use, enhanced by the presence of only a single screw, which gives the buckle some wiggle room.

The slender appearance is made possible by not using an inner booty. Instead, the bottom interior utilizes Cambrelle for enhanced comfort. The top interior of the Crossfire 2 is lined with a Teflon mesh that wicks away moisture and keeps your foot cool. To improve temperature regulation, the boot also includes several vents on the back and the lateral side.

The outside of the Sidi Crossfire 2 is designed for impact resistance and long-term durability. The medial side features a grippy heat shield. The boot is built with Sidi’s proprietary Technomicro, a patented synthetic microfiber. The shin plate is made with a thermoplastic material and can be adjusted to fit various calf sizes. This feature is nice as it accommodates knee braces very well.

One of the hallmarks about the Cross fire 2 is that so many parts on it are replaceable: the abrasion plate, the shin plate, the heat shield, the kickstart guard, the buckles and the ankle strap. Unlike the SRS model, the sole is not replaceable at home on the Sidi Crossfire 2 TA. This comes at a price advantage as well as the inclusion of a toe guard and a slightly different sole pattern.

    Specs:

Sole of the TA (Traditional Application) Model:
  • TA sole is best suited for riders who may walk in their boots a bit.
  • TA sole features excellent rear brake feel.
  • TA sole is made of anti-skid rubber.
  • TA sole can be replaced by a cobbler.

    Construction:
  • Italy’s finest top grain leather is used as a base material, with laminated Technomicro material being used on the tongue and rear joint areas for the best in flexibility and comfort.
  • Toe area is covered in protective plastic.
  • Inner heat shield is made of high-grip material.
  • Nylon insole is used, not a dangerous steel shank.
  • Tongue features a protective internal gusset.
  • Lower interior utilizes anti-abrasion Cambrelle in the foot area for comfort.
  • Upper Interior is lined with Teflon mesh to wick away sweat.
  • Malleolus external molded plastic guard and internal ergonomic closed-cell foam padding enhance foot protection.

    Design:
  • Rigid, shock resistant, anatomically shaped heel holds the rider’s foot firm and thus resists twisting while offering maximum protection.
  • Dual hinge design limits foot/ankle hyperextension.
  • Lower buckle utilizes a molded guard to protect against opening.
  • Calf plate system features an inner double adjustment that expands to fit even the largest calf!
  • Top of boot features a high-grip anti-heat panel on the inside area
  • Gaiter utilizes an elastic belt with Velcro closure, keeping out the elements.
  • Exclusive Dual Flex System offers the industry’s best fit, especially with knee braces.
  • Non-bootie design is slim and cool.
  • Arch support is removable.

    Replaceable Parts:
  • All bolt-on parts are replaceable.
  • Replaceable shin plate is a Sidi-patented feature.
  • Replaceable inner kickstart/footpeg guard is on the inside area of both boots.
  • Cam lock buckle system is replaceable, sleek and micro adjustable, and it includes memory retention straps.
  • Complete central strap system can be easily replaced and is available in two sizes.
  • Assembled and replaceable boot leg is stitch free!

The Best,, True to US sizes.
This is my second set in 7 years, I race 16 to 20 races a year plus weekly practice. I race Cross Country and have had them conditions from hot to cold and dry to sloppy mud. These boots have a extremely short bake in time, about an hour for me. I where them around camp all day because I forget that I have them on. I like the low-profile toe for shifting, I have never had a buckle come undone under race conditions. The inner gator keeps the water and debris out and sweet wicked away. Adjustable fit for those with large to small calves and can be set to accept shin guards that are worn inside the boot. These are the boots you just have to take a leap of faith and get. You won’t find anyone that has used them say they plan to get something else next time.

Mobility,
It seemed to me that this boot is pretty strong where it needs to be but flexible enough to walk around comfortably. And shift, brake.
The only problem for me was the bunching of fabric at the front of my ankle making it uncomfortable to bend the boot forward. If they upped the padding here (front of the boot) I think it could help out a lot. This is where the sg 12 shines I think. I went with the gearne sg 12. It seemed to have a softer feel to the inside of the boot but not as dexterous or flexible. The sidi xfire2 has a fair amount of flex for the comfort of walking and the sole has a better mild grip. So at least you get a chance at not slipping everywhere in the greasy stuff. It's definitely a great boot.
The buckles seem like they will hold up longer than the plastic ones on the sg 12 but only time will tell. Over all I was splitting hairs on these two boots but the sg fit snug and soft, no hot spots or harsh pressure spots. But it is a bulkier boot than the sidi xfire2 ta which has a narrower profile overall. But I didn't find them to run as small or narrow as some were suggesting for sizing. I would probably rather walk out of the woods in these boots as they felt more flexible and lighter than the sg12.
Try em both they're both the best for durability. Good luch

Great boot
As usual, RM-ATV has great response and delivery services.

Already have a pair of Crossfires that are still good from 2011, sized at 12.5 wearing the thicker mx socks, and knew I'd be getting another pair of these Sidi's. Gotta have the ankle mobility these provide for shifting and braking.

I'm typically a 10.5 or 11 wearing shoes. Decided to get another 12.5 again...pretty darn accurate, and great boot.

Used these for two cross country races so far. These are much more confidence inspiring and feel much more substantial compared to my old Alpinestars Tech7.

Very surprised
I just received my sidi's. I got an 11.5 as I wear a 11.5 in tennis shoes. My first experience was putting my foot in and hitting the ankle area. it was so painfully tight I could barely stand it. Though the foot length was fine and the width of my actual foot was ok the ankle area felt like a hose clamp was tightened down to where my blood flow was cut off. Also these boots were insanely stiff! I guess in my mind I thought the foot would articulate a little. My alpine stars never took much breaking in but even new they flexed way more than these did. I'm not knocking them as they are clearly made well. But I did some long nights researching these vs gaerne and I am just shocked at how uncomfortable these were. I know I am a rare situation but for whatever reason these were not for me! I'll be ordering the Gaerne sg12's next.

Great boots
These boots are awesome. Super stiff and the fit/adjustability is great. The soles seem to be holding up well too.

Very well designed and built. Excellent craftsmanship!
Could not wait to get my hands on these, met the delivery guy at the door. As soon as I got the box open I was blown away at how sweet these boots looked. Was a little worried if I ordered the right size or not, I am right around a 9 or 9.5 in most everything I wear but I ordered a size 10 and it fits great even a little room left for putting in a slightly thicker insole to soften then up a hair! Sidi Crossfire 2 ta is a work of art, I almost hate to take them out and get them dirty for the first time! Hopefully they perform as good as they look! Fast delivery from Rocky Mtn. also.

These boots are replacing my old tech 6 alpinestars, Size 10 a little tight, after a few hours could feel them breaking in. First thing i realized was how much better thay gripped the bike
hitting whooped out sections. Protection is light years ahead
of my old boots. Buckle-strap adjustments are simple. Quality
is everywhere on this boot, U want the best open the wallet.

I have a pair of the Sidi Adventure 2 boots in size 47. They fit perfectly. Is the sizing uniform between the Sidi boots? Trying to figure out if the 47 would be the same in the Crossfire T/A.
Jay N on Nov 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Jay,

Your best bet is to stay with the size you normally wear in Sidi, our boots are from very similar lasts between models.
