I'm impressed with the TKC80 front tire.
Just replaced my TKC80 with 9098 miles on my BMW 1200 GSA. Not sure how I got this much mileage on a knobby tire, but I am very happy with these tires as this is the third tire installed. And won't be the last if I'm running a knobby

Smooth tracker
Picked up a CB500X and scrambled to get some tires on it in time for a rally ride (RM never fails to come through when you need them to). Was not disappointed in this tire - front tracked super through the gravel, dirt, & mud.

Good surprise was how smooth it felt on road, too.

TKC's work perfect with my GSA
I've been using TKC's for years on my BMW GSA. They work really well in most all conditions with reassuring traction and directional stability on pretty much anything you throw at them. As far as deep mud or sand, any big bike like the GSA is a handful no matter what knob you choose. Were the TKC's really shine is their ability to allow you to still ride at a generous sporting pace on the street. They offer composure in corners that must be experienced to be believed. If I had to knock them, they are noisy on the road, but that's the nature of a knob pattern. Worth the tradeoff IMO. I considerd cheaper alternatives, but these have proven their they are worth the slight premium to me.

TKC 80 front
Best tire I've found for dirt, mud, rocks, sand, and deep gravel. Not a great tire for pavement use, but usable. Somewhat noisy on pavement, but it is an excellent off road tire.

Best 50/50 tires!
Love these! Just wish they would offer the 90/90-21 in tube type.

So far, so good
Great traction and the price was right, but with that great traction comes shortened lifespan.

I get 6000 miles out of the front on KTM 1190
No one ever criticizes the performance of the TKC80 - it's always the tread life they criticize. I get 6000 miles, however my KTM 1190 has lots of electronic stuff such as front ABS and wheelie control in certain modes. So...sometimes when I wheelie too high, it will bring the front end down pretty hard by cutting power. At 6000 miles, I had some good knobs and some worn knobs...not sure how that happened as it was gradual and I did not lose knobs - some just wore faster than others. Not sure if the worn knobs are from when I come down off a wheelie and suddenly the wheel has to instantly increase speed when it contacts the pavement??? Never-the-less, I could not feel it in the front end, or the dirt or street performance and at 6000 miles, I did not care.

KLR650 Utah Front Tire!
Love this tire for any Utah adventure, it's great for road, dirt, sand, rock, and even snow and ice (which I don't recommend). No complaints so far and had it on for one season.

Good 50/50 tire
I used this as a front tire on my KTM 950SE. Acceptable both on pavement and off. It shows as directional but I swapped it after 2000 miles and that minimized uneven tread block wear with no downside I could tell. My previous TKC80 became unusable at 3000 miles due to weird tread block wear. Got 4000+ miles by turning it around

Hey guys, I have an 08 Honda crf230l and want to use the tkc80 on it. I see that it says the 90/90-21 is tubeless, but I will need to use a tube. I do not go high speeds and if I do, the bike can't do much more than 70. I am mostly dirt road and some street. Would I be ok running a tube in this tire? Also the rear is 120/80-18, and the closest I see is the 120/90-18. Thoughts on that? Thanks!
Seth J on Nov 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You should be fine. Some TKC 80s- maybe all- are tube/non-tube specific. But, it won't matter with that little bike you're on. Also, the TKC is a soft walled tire, which will be nice for that bike. The sizing shouldn't make much difference. It's hard to say what you're referring to, but a 120/90 is going to have a slightly greater circumference than a 120/80 possibly leaning to tire rub on the rear fender. Not likely, however.
