Comparing the Michelin R5s to the Michelin PR4s (my all time favorites) > Traction was about equal wet and dry, but the R5s squirmed a bit at max lean. My primary complaint is the lifespan. I've gotten as little as 8,800 miles but as many as 12,200 miles on the PR4s, so it was more than a little disappointing to see the left sides of these tires worn out at 5,500, while the right sides still looked good. This is on a rather heavy 579 lb. Yamaha FJR1300, but the local sport bike group considers the R5 a big mistake too. It really makes me wonder why the R5s cost less than the PR4s, too.Read All Reviews

Great sticky tire. Wet or dry. I have bought several sets and will keep using them until something even better comes out. I am the kind of rider who values traction over mileage.Read All Reviews

Bought for my 2006 GL1800. It had 22k when I bought it and the 2nd set of tires were just about shot. These Bridgestone G704/G709 combo is all the bike has ever had on it, according to the original owner. He loved the factory set and replaced with the same tires. Just rolled 30k on the bike. Back tire looks good still, front one is down to 3/32 on the center. Not sure how many miles are left on it. I noticed these were very quiet when new, but git a bit noisy (growling noise) when you lean. I'm guessing about 12k on these would be expected. Being my first touring bike, I'm not complaining. My previous bikes only got 5-6k out of a back tire. I like that these seem to wear about the same rate, though most bikes get a lot more out the the front (or maybe a lot less out of the rear)? Geat price from these guys, will buy next set from them also!Read All Reviews
