East tie to mount.
This tire was very easy to mount on the rim. It hooks up pretty well and the cost was reasonable. I will be purchasing another when the time comes to replace this one. It is used primarily for riding in the desert. It does the job for me and so far hasn't exhibited any scary handling traits, which is important for an older rider. I don't like unpleasant surprises when I am riding. It take too long to heal.

Great Tire
I have bought many Maxxis tires. Never been disappointed. They wear like iron.

Good traction and long life
I put a lot of miles on my last Maxxis Maxxcross Intermediate Terrain tire and liked it a lot, so I just bought a new one for a replacement. I mostly ride hard-pack trails but I sometimes get on the track, or in soft dirt, mud, or rocks and this tire seems good to me. I really stretched the tire life by riding about 1,300 miles and wearing it down to small, rounded nubs. Near the end of its life it still hooked up on hard-pack, but of course the sandy stuff was slippery. Seems as good, or better than any other tire I've had.

Good choice between IT desert and MX tire
I ride a lot of desert and loved the IT desert for how well it stood up to the abuse and its predictable feel.
Even though it didn't have mountains of grip, I knew how far I could dive into the corners and when I was going to wash out.

The IT feels like it has quite a bit more grip than the desert version but I don't think it'll last as long, based on the wear on the first ride.
It held much better than I expected on wet shale, intermediate and hard pack dirt. The front feels predictable and easy to feel the limits of it too.

I like the tire and I'll buy another if it lasts long enough.
I have this paired with a the same tire on the back and I think they work well together.

Awesome tire!
I can't really review on the longevity of this tire but the first ride on this tire was super muddy. It was really slick and just soupy. It handled the trail like a champ. I will definitely be getting this again

I never knew handling could be this good
Bought these after a friend recommended them and he's ruined me. I cannot buy any other tire now because these tires have destroyed what I expect of a tire. The hook up is fantastic. I've taken them in wet, slippery conditions in pouring rain to dusty sun bake dirt and these tires have not once broken traction. I am beyond happy with these tires.
Also installation was easy enough with these tires. If you're in the market for tires, this is the only choice!

Worst tire I have ever purchased
If all you ride is desert or dry ground this is probably a decent tire. However, all I ride is mud and trails and I am just everywhere with it. I just got off of a set of other tires and those things were like tanks just seemed to go everywhere. I used them till they looked like street bike tires and they still went everywhere. I was hopping this tire would offer the same grip but give it more of a lifespan. This did not happen. Even after using like a quarter of tank I can see some wear on my tires. Even with these tires being new they were nowhere near as good as my others were when they were practically bald. Will not recommend this tire to anybody. However, if you want something that will keep you from getting flats this is the way to go.

Is there a yellow maxxis logo on both sides of the tire?
Dario V on Oct 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, just one side.
Are these tires directional? I notice a small circle with an arrow on the side.
A shopper on Jan 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have run them both directions without a noticing a difference in performance. But when new I install them according to the directional arrow. I reverse them later on to get more life out of the tire.
