Very handy esp for those of us with a Steahly flywheel weight where a typical flywheel holder would be used otherwise. Does what it should---keeps the crank from moving via soft (plastic) pressure on the piston head as it comes up.
I have had several of these tools and they are awesome. They do wear out by nature, they are made of plastic so they do not damage any parts. I usually buy a new one when I see signs of wear. They're cheap and always nice to have.
For a tool this cheap and the type of material it's constructed out of it works pretty well. I don't know how long it'll last before the threads come off, but it's like already a handful of times and the threads still look good.
crankshaft lockup tool - works well for what it is
Considering its low price, this is one of those rescue-me-in-a-pinch kind of tools that you ought to have in your toolbox. Worked fine for me when I installed a Steahly flywheel weight. Normally I use a flywheel holder tool which is much more robust than this gizmo, but the flywheel weight covered up the holes in the flywheel, so I had to resort to this little tool. But honestly, if you are going to do clutch work, then buy yourself a clutch/flywheel holding tool. They are only about $25 on this web site.
great tool! this is a must if you are a person that works on your own bikes. It was invaluable when you need to tighten your flywheel bolt on the end of the crank. the price makes it a defininte must have.
