I have an 03 WR 450. It sounds like Yamaha undersized these from the word go. Everything I read, said to upgrade to the Raptor 660 starter. I couldn't see anything that made me think it was a direct bolt replacement. I was a little leery thinking this might be a bit undersized. I replaced this, and the battery in unison. It started first push of the button, and did so with minimal effort.
