Good guards
These are comfortable, stay in place well, and offer good protection for the price. My only complaint is the straps, they need to be softer. The straps tore the hell out of the back of my knee joints. Hopefully knee sleeves will prevent this

AS SX-1
Bought these to upgrade protection from some Fox guards i've had for a while. Once adjusted they fit well and stay in place. The only reason these are not getting 5 stars is they chafe the back of my knee. Maybe after some more experimenting i can loosen them a bit, but the first couple rides they moved when looser.

Protection ??
These are just awesome you adjust them to your leg size snap them in and they hold on to that spot and don’t move. They are very comfortable with the padding they have inside and are very maneuverable with the pivots that are in both sides of the knee guard plus they look very good.

Knee guard itself it padded all around with the guard face being made out of a hard plastic with flex , the lower thigh guard and the shin guard are also made of hard plastic without flex and are also padded but not as heavily as the knee area to help with air circulation.

I would definitely recommend

So Worth the Money
True, these are not true knee braces, but as well built and fitting as they are I believe they save you some grief should your very bendy bits encounter non-bendy bits. I've puttered around in them for hours and they remain very comfortable. Of course you sweat, but I've worn much hotter knee pads than these for more money or less protection. And they stay put!

Best bang for buck knee guard
These knees guard have already earned their worth gone down multiple times while on the track digging in the front on soft sand and use the knee the bars really bad and get a swollen knee with these no problem also stops the inside of my knees from getting beat up gripping the bike only down side is they dont stop hyperflexing but if you are a casual rider these things are great

Great - Used them this entire season
I have over twenty rides on them this year, most 5-7 hour rides. All Enduro / Off-Road. I have no acl in either knee as well as torn mcl in one knee. These are not braces but absolutely add some stability. They are very comfortable and protect very well. I have close to a hole in one from a broken limb that popped up when another rider hit it, one end was stuck in dirt, other end lifted to my calf. Had I not been wearing it I'm sure it would have penetrated and possibly broken a bone. I really like these. Highly recommend them to everyone.

Every thing is as said and I like them only thing I did not like is the stretch padding on the back and straps are just a little to small. For my legs I added some and it’s all good

Is this a Knee Brace for Motocross?
Tyler J on May 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Short answer - Sure if you want them to be.
Short review - I'd call them plastic/polymer knee brace guards. Just a step below actual $300+ metal framed. They have held up great after four months and 3k+ miles of supermoto shenanigans. No sign of wear or breakage. And they have saved me from a couple good hits unscathed. They wrap around your knee protecting the outside of the knee and the low profile geared pivot assembly make for minimal bulk between the bike. Easy one time set and forget strap system that really is convenient. So in conclusion if you're on the pro level look a little higher, if you're entry to intermediate or on a budget braap on.
How do you measure for size on the alpine knee braces?
lori p on Apr 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you look at this item on Alpinestars's website you will be able to find their sizing chart there. I will attach the link to it.

Does this come as a pair? And how does the sizing work
Joshua C on Nov 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes this will come as a pair. The sizing chart goes froma small/medium, large/X-large, and a xx-large. Hopefully this helps.
Of what material is made the center ( knee cap)?
Daniel M on Dec 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Daniel - The knee cap is a firm padded material 12-15mm thick with a clear flexible polyurethane cover 2-4mm thick - the material under the clear pu cap is a durable/abrasion resistant outer cover and the inner lining is a stretchy durable smooth neoprene like fabric - the lining seems to wick fairly well and dry out overnight even after hosing it down after riding - though we live in the high desert of western Colorado - so ymmv - the wife and I both have these - numerous tip overs on dirt and gravel roads - wife fell over on the road - 25-30mph -
chip seal tarmac - neither of us ever had a scratch wearing these - decent lateral support too - highly recommended for this level of protection - next step would be going to full knee brace - we are slooowww trail / intermediate dual sport/ dirt road riders with plenty of posted 75mph highway in between - no jumping - so seems to be about right for us - used to wear pants with built in pads - found that these AStars don't move on impact - are all day comfortable and way more protective than the pads in the pants simply because they stay put - hope that helps ... Michael and Tammie
Measuring at the high end do you go to the next size up?
Tj G on Apr 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I used the measuring chart for mine didn't up size mine and they fit great
