Good tire, might take some getting used to

I'm not tire expert but this is what I'd call a soft-knobby tire, meaning that if you're used to something stiffer it will feel kind of unsteady under you. But I've come to like the feel because it has a bit of forgiveness that has been great for the desert terrain I mostly ride. I did up it to 13 PSI (I usually run 11 PSI on stiffer tires) and that helped. Don't take that to mean it isn't tough--two weeks ago I rode the last 30 miles of a 40-mile NHH race with it flat (partially thanks to Tubliss) after a thorn pierced it (Slime didn't seal it for some reason).

    Fantastic tires

These tires are great. Put them on just before completing 3 days of the NEBDR and they were so much better than the stock tires on my DRZ400. Gave me alot more confidence on the tough trails but still rode well on the pavement.

    Great dual sport tire

Great tire. What more can you say about the 606. Best dual sport tire for smaller dual sports.

  • Kenda K760 Trakmaster II Rear Tire

    Excellent tire for offroad

I bought a used KLX earlier in the year that came with one of these tires with about 50% tread left and was impressed with the grip it gave on the trails I've ridden that bike on. My buddies are running D606's on their bikes and I was tempted to go that route when I was replacing the now-worn K760. After watching them struggle in a few spots that my Trakmaster just scooted through problem-free, I waited for these beasts to be back in stock and ordered them immediately. Sure, their grip on the road is just passable and they aren't smooth at all on hardpack and pavement. But I ride 90% dirt, so these are perfect for my needs. I haven't found any type of terrain where they let me down. I ride mostly sand and desert terrain, but after a 90-mile ride with some pavement, gravel, forest roads, and ATV trails with boulders, mud, and rocky water crossings, I can't recommend these highly enough. They hooked up very well in every situation. Threw on a new K760 front for that ride as well, and it performed better than expected as well. I have noticed that they wear extremely quickly on pavement but for the price, I don't mind going through one per season to have that reliable grip when I need it.
