The STI Sand Wedge Paddle Tire is a rock-solid design made to dig sand and provide traction on the loosest terrain. But there’s a twist because STI has added a unique center rib that runs lengthwise between each paddle.

With this rib the Sand Wedge gains more predictable handling since it can carve from side to side while the rib provides stability. The rib helps straight line stability as well. With 8 paddle tires for your 125 to 250 cc machines and 10 paddle tires for the large 450s and 500s, the STI Sand Wedge Paddle Tire is one of the best sand tires available.

    Specs:
  • Lightweight 3-ply carcass floats on sand
  • 1.2 inch tall paddles
  • Available in 8 and 10 paddle options
  • Center rib improves cornering and straight line stability

I love this paddle tire.
This is one of my favorite paddle tires I have used. It has enough traction but not to much. I hate when the front tire is always trying to lift, either climbing a hill or off a jump. It does look sick when you hit the back break too. It can get a little squirley at high speed if your weight isn't right. I have it paired with a tusk back wheel.

Have lasted many hours, hook up great and serve their purpose.
My 14 year old daughter and I both have these on our 450s. Both are 10 paddle. I bought one for me first, liked it and bought one for her. You aren't going to powers slide through corners as well with these. I don't notice the weight others talk about. They do get a little squirrelly in 5th gear full throttle but I don't ride like that much. They have great traction. We mainly climb some gnarly stuff where we go. I honestly bought these because I can't take the slow speed on harder surfaces with a regular paddle. They do roll really decent for a paddle on the hard stuff. The rubber on the paddles are really thick and are holding up well as we have rocky sections to cross and things of that nature. If you are like me and the paddle to roll round when needed you will like this tire. Ive gotta ding it a little for handling but I'm not a pro rider in any environment.

Deadly Tire!!!
Great tire, live up in Canada and have quite the rocky ride into the Dunes at brule lake. Spine is nice for not a rough ride in low speeds and helps a bit with side hilling I feel! Run the 8 paddle cause 10 is a little too much torque I feel for my 350 sxf. Over all it's a deadly tire should pick one up!

Good tire, good value
I put this tire on my sons 2014 Honda CRF450R, He and his buddies rode for 3 days at the dunes at Little Sahara. My son said the tire worked great. it showed no signs of wear, and performed better than his friends tires that were a different brand, I recommend this tire, a great value.

Very smooth good side hill capability.
This tire is a good value. It side hills very well with the center rib. Smooth ride with the 10 paddle design. Is narrow compared to what I expected. You might want to get the widest size you can.

If you turn you crash
Tire should come with warning label DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TURN..rib lifts tire up off ground at lean angle..Maker should try testing the product first

KX 250 @ Sand Mountain
I bought this to put on my KX 250 for a week long trip to Sand Mountain, NV. Worked great all week, climbing the hill, riding bowls, etc felt predictable. The place is pure sand even in the camping area, so I did not really use the rib, it did make it easier bringing the bike to and from the trailer for loading on pavement. I did not notice any issues with the rib reducing traction on the sand like another reviewer mentioned, but this is the only 2 wheeler / sand paddle I have experience with, so I really cant compare this to a non-ribbed tire.

Very sturdy paddle
This is a very high quality paddle that is perfect for a beginner or less aggressive rider. It helps to prevent unwanted slipping of the tire while on a bowl and it also protects it when momentarily crossing hard surfaces. It will also prevent intentional sliding of the back tire when turning aggressively.

Never Again
the spine may seem like a great concept. And rolling through camp it is. But on the sand of Little Sahara it is horrible. The ribs keep the tire from digging in at high speeds and you start to float over the sand which sounds great but it is extremely squirrely and scary to take at high speeds. i took a razor blade and cut the ribs off and it was much better and still very durable. but is no where near as good as another brand of paddle which had a rib design similar.

Which tire is best for sand 8 or 10 paddle on a 2006 yz450 f?
Dusty D on Sep 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There are different factors to consider about this question! Is it loose deep sand or more of a packed sand? You are riding a 450 so it would have enough to push a 10 paddle. 8 paddle robs less power from the bike. I have a 2012 yz450f and used this tire 10 paddle in Idaho. It was great for the smaller dunes but I think the centre rib made it float a bit on top and not dig hard to be able climb the bigger dunes. That is a very soft deep sand. It may perform better on a harder pack sand. Personally I'm going to switch to a CST surge 8 paddle for my next trip down there. Good luck!
Quality?
Cody a on Jan 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Very high quality tire. Not very hard to mount either. I've ran this tire in some dunes in WA state that have some embedded rock in areas and the tire has not show any abnormal wear at all. Ran this tire in deep sand on the OR coast dunes and does very well out there too. The center fin helps it track straight at high speeds. Definitely recommend
