The Alpinestars Tech 7 Boots are a premium boot that works as the Tech 10's little brother in the Astars' lineup. Protection, comfort, and quality are all kept top notch, but with the exclusion of the Tech 10's inner bootie and support struts on the front and rear producing a lower price point, the Tech 7 represents an excellent value for a boot that is still very easily pro level in its performance.

Starting with protection, the Tech 7 sports TPU panels, impact deflecting honeycomb rubber inserts, and a biomechanical hinge that give it a CE certified level of injury prevention. The one-piece, multi-compound lower also gives protection and a low-profile toe box as well, making shifting and finding your shifter that much easier. Dual-compound soles deliver plenty of traction on the pegs, and while they're very durable, they're also complete replaceable.

Durability for the boot as whole is top notch with tons of double stitching and single, uniform pieces of material getting used as much as possible. And to hold everything together, the Tech 7 has the very easy to use, self-cleaning, self-adjusting, aluminum "arrowhead" style cam buckles. Along with the rest of the nuanced features, the Tech 7 is well-loved for being a comfortable yet protective option that punches well above its price range.

    Protection
  • The Tech 7 boot is CE certified
  • One-piece dual compound foot shell with co-injected hard toe protector and integrated steel shank is highly resistant to abrasion and impact
  • Upper constructed from microfiber material that is flexible and abrasion resistant.
  • Upper material is reinforced with impact resistant PU panels
  • Calf protector plate injected with high modulus polymer
  • Alpinestars’ blade flex system prevents hyperflexion, hyperextension, and rotational injuries
  • TPU ankle protection system incorporates biomechanical link between the middle and bottom sections of boot
  • TPU shin plate and medial protection constructed from single piece and features dual closure system
  • TPU medial side panel incorporates advanced honeycomb rubber insert
  • Dual compound sole seamlessly integrated into base structure

    Comfort
  • Boot chassis designed with an ergonomically profiled forefoot and lower toe-box
  • Sole and footpeg inserts are replaceable
  • Wide entry aperture
  • Buckle closure system includes high-impact aluminum bridge closures, with memory settings and a quick release/locking system with self-aligning design
  • Instep and Achilles accordion flex zones
  • Extended microfiber gaiter
  • Internal lining includes anti-slip microfiber suede on heel
  • Foam reinforcement on ankles and collar
  • Dual compound, removable, anatomic footbed includes EVA and Lycra top

Alpinestars tech 7
I was in need of new boots that fit larger calves. I watched Rocky Mountain’s review and fit meant video of the tech 7’s and decided to trust their review. They were spot on with their video and these fit as advertised. I’ve been out of dirt bikes for sometime and recently got back into it, that being said I had no expectations concerning new gear, especially boots. To my surprise these boots feel pre-broken in out of the box and fit my large calves with room to spare. I never had boots with the molded sole before, but these feel like sneakers in a good way. They’re very comfortable and supportive with great flex. The last boots I had were Tech 8’s from 2003 & I don’t think there is a comparison beyond that they are both mx boots. I strongly recommend them.

we have had these for a few years now and are holding up just great
we have had them for a few years and are holding up great, they fit and feel great. I like them a lot better then G boots. I have no plan of getting any other boot going forward. We buy our a half size big for the kids so they get more time out of them.

Good boots
Bought the 7s due to 10s being too tight with the inner bootie. So far the boots have been great. A little stiff at first, did require a decent amount of work to break in. Overall seem pretty durable.

Great boot for a great price!!
Out of the box they are a little stiff but that is to be expected. Haven’t had a chance to ride in them yet only tried them on and wore them around the house a bit. They fit pretty true to size I wear a 9.5 so I went up to a 10 because Astar doesn’t do have sizes. They are a little big but with a thick pair of socks my feet don’t move and are still pretty comfortable.

Good boot
This was my first pair of premium boots. I used to wear cheap boots but now i would never go back. Unlike most other boots, after a day of riding you don't need to take the boots off immediately, they are very comfortable. Thin toe box so shifting is easy, however the sole is not going to give you the life that something like another will.

Great all-round boot
If you're looking for a boot to do dual sport to moto, this works well for me. I do have wide, flat feet so these boots do run slightly narrow with a high arch. Great protection and cost. I've found a few specks of sand can jam the plastic cam buckles from fulling locking.

What are the measurements for the height of the boot from back of the heal to the top (shin height)? What is the circumference of the calf? Preferably for a size 6.
Nick Y on Feb 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The height is 14.5" Tall and the circumference of the calf is approximately 20" (it can be adjusted).
Has anyone worn these as well as Tech 10s? I like how snugly the Tech 10s fit and am curious if these are similar in fit?
LAUREN D on Apr 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This Tech 10 are excellent boots and the price is right,
Does anyone have the weight of this boot? If possible can you post the weight and size of the boot. Thanks.
JOE M on Jan 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you are familiar with the tech 8's, they are lighter. Tech 7's do not have the inner bootie, so I was able to get my exact shoe size. With the tech 8's, I always bought a size bigger on the Tech 8's. The Tech 7's are very comfortable and look great. They have made the soles better and have a little extra traction made into the shifter area of the boot too. The only characteristic that I don't care for, is that they squeak every step. There are pivot points made into the boot on the ankles that are noisy when walking. Worth every penny though.
What is the weight or the tech 7 boot?
Stephen W on Feb 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: These boots weigh approximately 8 pounds as a pair.
Are these boots true to size? I have a USA size 16 foot and need a real USA size 16 boot.
Andy D on Nov 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes I believe they do. I wear a 11 1/2 - 12 in regular shoes and boots. I bought size 12 tech 7s and they fit perfect. They feel great with thin summer socks and still room for thick winter socks. There is quite a bit of adjustment in these boots to the perfect fit. By far the best I have worn.
Going to be doing a lot of water crossings do these boots handle water well? (Rainy season in Cambodia)
james c on May 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: In my opinion, they handle water pretty well. As with any boot, if you are in water deeper than the inside front liner you will get water in them but it's not bad. As far as durability, my tech 6's are holding up awesome. I highly recommend these boots to anyone.
can i wear these shoes on a sports bike??
A shopper on Oct 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Honestly, I don't know what you mean by "sports bike", but if you mean motocross, Yes! I bought these for my son, he races motocross (dirtbikes). They are durable and great boots. His last pair have lasted a long time and were handed down to his little sister (I think they were Tech 3's).
My girlfriend wears a women's 6. What size would be good for her?
A shopper on Mar 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: USally a woman will wear 2 sizes smaller in a men's boot. I personally would take her to a local shop and have her try them on to be sure because a good fitting boot offers much better protection. Looking at the sizes of tech 7s, they only show going down to size 5 which may be big on her. I personally love my tech 7s and they run really true to size
My wife wears a womens size 7 shoe, what size should I get her in these Tech 7?
DAVID M on Mar 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I wear 8 1/2 - 9 shoe size. I bought size 10 to have extra room for cold weather sox. The Tech 7
boot fits fine with warm weather sox , plenty of room and just barely snug with cold weather sox.
These Tech 7's are in my opinion better fitting than my Tech 10's. I love these boots.
I would like to know what size in mens is the same for a women's size 8?
Elizabeth S on Oct 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My girlfriend wears a size 8 women's shoe, we bought her the tech 7's in men's 7 and they fit great. I would go to a local shop and have her try on the men's boots then order them. Alpine stars are very standard in their sizes. So even if they only have a men's tech 3 that will be the same as the tech 7 and tech 10.
good evening!!
And I wanted to know how much to send, and what total amount in real?
A shopper on Feb 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Please email [email protected] with the part number, size, and your full address and we would be happy to send you a shipping quote.
I believe the closeout model (tech 7 Patriot) is actually from 2014. Is that correct, and are there any differences between the these and the new 2016 models?
TIM R on Nov 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The 2014-2016 boots are all the same since they're a part of the same generation. The Red/White/Blue color way is one of the original color ways.
Are these boots water proof?
Joe B on Jan 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They will hold out water riding through puddles and shallow streams if your moving. Any severe splash that runs back down your legs, some will find it's way in your boot. As far as waders go, I would go much deeper than 1 1/2 to 2" over the ankle, water will get over the shin baffle, if the what call it. You will find them comfortable enough to wear all day. Should get 150 to 200 hrs out of them depending on how you take care of them. Hope this helps.
Should I get the Alpine star Tech 7 or the Gaerne SG 12 ?
Danny H on Feb 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I myself tried to decide between Tech 7 or Gaerne SG12 and the Tech 7 worked perfectly for me. These boots provide me with exactly what I was looking for. They are comfortable boots with protection where I need it. Hope this helps.
I currently have the tech 3 boots and they are good boots but I have trouble feeling the brake petal and shifter with them.. would the tech 7 boot improve bike feel over the tech 3 and are they more comfortable to wear?
JOHN H on Dec 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’ve never had Tech 3 but the Tech 7s are the best boot I’ve ever owned and I would highly recommend them. Much better to shift and brake with in my opinion.
I am looking at purchasing the tech 7. I wear a size 10.5 shoe so am probably going to order a size 10. According to alpinestar's sizing guide on their website, it says I may need a size as small as 7?? Do their sizes run pretty true?
Scott S on Nov 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'd say they run pretty true, maybe slightly large. I'm a 11.5 in most shoes and ordered 12 based on my history with Tech 8 boots in the past. I erred on the large size to make sure my knee pads fit with no problem. Now that I've had them for a while, I probably could have been fine with a size 11. I hope this helps.
Hi I wear men’s size 11 Fox boot and they fit pretty darn snug with just my normal shoe socks on.. I hear the alpinestars runs like one size bigger then my shoe size is that correct?
Rocky F on Mar 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I wouldn't say a full size bigger, maybe a half size bigger than Fox. I'd say a size 11 Tech 7's probably feel about a half size bigger than a size 11 Fox Instinct boots. I've had both & the 7's were definitely roomier in the same size. Tech 10's However run on the smaller side.
do the tech 7 work well with knee pads?
Cam R on Jun 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They works verry well. Very comfortable
Hinge looks too high. Does it bunch up in front?
A shopper on Jul 20, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have worn the Tech 7 boots for two years and the hinges and buckles have worked great with no issues.
I have a 10.5 inch/28 cm size feet. What size in tech 7 best fits me?
A shopper on Nov 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I wear 10s and ordered 10s. I would go up to the next whole size if in between.
What is the manufacture year of Tech -7 boots?
G S M on Nov 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not sure exactly what your question's intent is...

Tech 7's are made every year (there is current/new production), as a better value option than the more expensive Tech 10's. The original Tech 7's came out sometime around 2004 I believe.
How is the footpeg feel with these boots? Can you feel the shifter and brake pedal pretty good with these? I have a pair of tech 3 boots and I can't really feel anything with them on I always end up smashing the brake petal way more than I want to.. I'd rather ride in my work boots than the tech 3.. thanks
JOHN H on Jan 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have a pair and and everything feels great.
I wear Mobius braces and was wondering how the upper boot would fit over those? I know Mobius are a little more bulky than other knee braces so I wasn't sure if I would have any issues. Thanks!
Ryan M on Jun 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not sure about Mobuis, but they work great with my Asterisks.
I wear a size 10.5 should I go up a half size or down a half?
A shopper on Sep 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would recommend to go up a size, that way when you wear socks it won't be a super tight fit.
I wear size 10 in shoes so should I get the same size in boots?
Buffy B on Jul 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: We do suggest ordering for the shoe size you currently wear.
