  • New rubber mixture improves the tires durability by 25% and grip by 5-10% over their predecessors.
  • Aggressive, terrain-specific knob pattern bites down hard while resisting chunking.
  • The XC tire casing is designed to absorb impacts with less rebound, so the tire spends more time on the ground for outstanding acceleration, braking and steering.

I hope they don't do away with this tire!!!
I have run this tire on the rear for years. This tire wears great and hooks up better worn than new and works great in soft soil and works good in ALL other terrain. I’m in Ohio and ride enduro’s and Dual Sports and go the Colorado in Sept. and I buy one of these tires a year and it still has half its tread left when I replace it for next year. I do favor the 140 size and have used the fronts there ok .

The best!
The best all around rear tire I have ever used, good in mud, sand, dirt and hard pack. It will tear up in rocks.

Off road
Best off road tire in my opinion I ride a mix of desert and off-road Woods riding and yes the desert does chew it up faster but the soft knobs grab so good it is worth it

Best tire ever for light weight 2 strokes
I run the S12 on the front and back of my 07 200XC katoom. I ride in the coast range of western Oregon and this is an amazing tire for what I ride. Rocks ,ruts, roots (add lots of water) you name it this tire makes my little 2 hunny stick like glue. I'm 62 years young and have been riding since the age of seven so I have tried just about every tire you can think of. I have all the confidence in the world when i'm tearing around on a new set of S12's !!!

Good deal!
Replaced the Dunlop MX 52's that came on my bike with this rear. I couldn't deny reviews on this and many other pages.
Only 1 ride on tire so far but it had fantastic hook up and rode well. Ride was on Rock, hard pack, and mud/ roots.
Tire shows no wear.

Paired with a MT-16 on the rear. Saweeeeet!!!!

How is it for motocross?
A shopper on Mar 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I ride and race in Florida, most all of the area in central, south Florida are sand. The S-12 is my go to tire for Hare scrambles and occasional Moto. Tire holds up well and holds edges. The front sticks and tracks well. Have seen some chunking on the rear tire if riding on hard pack, worse with big 4 stroke. No issues on my 250 2 stroke.
I have a 2017 ktm xc250f. I want the best tire set up for muddy rutted hare scrambles I was wondering if the s12 140/80/18 would be my best choice and if it would fit bike ok without modification?
JEREMY B on Aug 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They work well in sloppy conditions, and should fit fine, but I think the overall tire for Cross Country-Hare Scrambles is the AT-81's, that's just my opinion, I race all over OK, MO, ARK, so its every possible condition you can imagine.
Are the knobs a firm, medium or soft compound? Is the carcas in between the knobs very stiff or soft or somewhere in between?
Andrew C on Feb 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure about the compound. Check out the Michelin site for technical info. In Michigan sand, the Michelin S-12 Soft Terrain tires are very popular as they handle very well compared to factory tires. I put them on all three trail bikes that I own.
So if i typlically run a 110/90-19 then I should order a 130/70-19 Michelin? And it will be the same size as other brands 110?
A shopper on Mar 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. A Michelin 130/70-19 is the equivalent of a standard 110/90-19.
I have a 2015 KTM 300 XC very unhappy with the dunlops that came stock was wondering if I should go wider on the rear tire perhaps a 1:20 or maybe even a 1:30?
A shopper on Sep 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's all personal preference on the size of tire you run on your bike, but a really popular option is a 120 size tire. It puts a lot more rubber to the ground and provides quite a bit more stability than the stock 100's or 110's.
